ParmBrick Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Prototype with an elongated turret built in 1996. It was armed with a 140 mm smoothbore gun designed by the arsenal of Bourges (EFAB). The 140mm-armed Leclerc, with its enlarged turret, reportedly still requires two-piece ammunition, with the shell separate from the propellant. Even then, it can only hold 31 rounds. The firepower was (according the the official source) improved of 70% over the 120mm gun normally used. It has modular composite armor in titanium, tungsten and semi-reactive layers, with a range of 550km, and max speed at 72 km/h on street, and 55 km/h on terrain. Quote
