Hobbes Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Well, looks like I won't get it that soon (would have been great for sand green pieces): eBay Store 1 eBay Store 2 Bricklink Alright, the price maybe influenced by patriotism. Which is OK- to a certain extent! This is just plain sick! >:( /rant
SuvieD Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Insanity *wacko* :oD *wacko* if I had only known I would have gotten dozens of them from shop at home for the measley $150 they wanted for them. I could be rolling in the cash by selling them now. I was not willing to pay original cost for these. I would never pay more than that and I would certainly not pay $500+ for such a small set.
Hobbes Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 It does have 2800+ pieces so the original price (USD 199 according to LUGNET) actually had a good price/piece ratio. Don't know what it cost here, but this is insane...
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 This is insane! The highest price on Bricklink is currently $999.00 + $1.00 to $2.00 S&H = $1,000+! The highest and only price for instructions on this set is $99.00 + Free S&H = $99.00!
Centaur Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 WOW!!! I got one from S&H but I never opened it. $500 here I come!!! lol. But isnt 600$ a bit too much? Its a great set, but its possible to make it out of bricks from a standart creater bucket.
Hobbes Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 The only "asset" to me is that it's got tons of sand green bricks which can be used for nice houses in a train/town-layout. But that's not worth that much. As Centaur said, it's nothing more than a big creator bucket with only two colors of bricks (or be it three)... @Centaur: How much do you want? ;)
Centaur Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 lol! Im not sure id want to sell it. Im saving it for when I have the time to build it all. But I'm going to Chicago on friday, and last time I was there (2 months ago), the Lego Store had like 3 of them, so i might get an extra one. If I do, I'll pm you Hobbes.
WesternOutlaw Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Legoland CA's "pick-a-brick" store had sand green during my recent visit. I purchased quite a bit in bulk. I couldn't imagine someone paying $1,000 for the Statue. - definately over-rated!
CopMike Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I bought one with the help of Bricklink & three stores. It came to $160. :-D
recon Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 argg.......wow........no.....I mean..........WOW. Holy COW!!! I'm just a little bit stunned by the price. WOW Wheewwww........ I'm glad I have one for the cityscape(with Spiderman swinging from it) and one in a sealed box. WOW.......... Jer
