Burko-uk Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 This years Dakar Rally included a classic section, including an old 911. I thought I would take the GT3 RS and mod it into a modern equivalent. I don't own the set myself, so it's built from the parts bin. The colour is a bit dubious at first, but is meant to represent teh Wynns Oils race colour (as run by 911's at Le Mans, so there is some pedigree). There's not too much to it - the suspension was lifted by 3 studs, balloon tyres added, and the "splitter" at the front was pushed back a bit. I also added some extra rollcage frames. I dabbled with a bullbar and spotlights, but after three or four attempts, nothing looked right - it always looked like it had crashed into a scaffold tower, so I knocked that idea on the head. Some extra pics are on my brickshelf: Brickshelf Gallery - Dakar Rally inspired Porsche 911 Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Fun! I've also built a parts-bin 911 mod, though mine was a high-powered RC mod with non-lego components, and an LBG body. It seems like the kind of project that offers a lot of fun for little effort and expense, which can be a very nice combination. Quote
