xwingyoda Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Pleasing SW fans is NEVER easy !! When there is not enough novelty, they are not pleased, and when there is lads of novelty they are not pleased either *wacko* I am an OT purist (and still am !!) but I'm really happy for novelty !! For once TLC (btw trooperdavinfelthn the US love to call it TLG - The Lego Group ;-) ) expandes new horizons instead of only giving us re-editions of old sets ;-) Like a lot of OT nerds (like myself) I want a lot more OT sets BUT I'm really happy to have EU, FU and CW sets !! Bring them ON !! A really Happy *yoda*
natelite Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 we prefer TLG because TLC stands for tender loving care. ;-) or tomato lettuce and cabbage, whichever one comes first. ;-) while expanding the SW universe is fine, my wallet can't keep up. they should slow down a little. :-P i already limited my purchase to only the lines i want (only 3 lines for 2007 vs in 2006 where i was dabbling in almost anything lego) and even at this rate, i'm coming close to dangerously bankrupting myself. :-P TLC is on steroids for 2007/08.

Bring them ON !! A really Happy *yoda* Amen. I hear so many people get their panties in a wad when LEGO doesn't give them exactly what they want. They've trown a ton of bones our way of late, but they also want to keep up with the new stuff in the SW universe. Force Unleashed and the Clone Wars is on the way and it would be silly for LEGO to disregard it. The OT had a great year in the 2007 line.

I guess you didn't know that. :-$ :-P Still, I wonder: Will the CW sets be the entirety of late 2008 or will it be a seperate line? Because that would mean 14 SW sets(judging that they make 6 sets like usual) including any number of UCS sets in late 2008!
Commander Faie Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi allIn my own defense I know what is and what isn't correct on that list. It could be that all of it is correct or none of it is correct. Or maybe 50%. I can't say more I'm afraid Jeremy Do you like to see us suffer? Well you are one lucky person to know. How do you know?
Vader Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Do you like to see us suffer? Well you are one lucky person to know. How do you know? Do you really expect him to answer how he knows? That's his secret :-)
Commander Faie Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Do you really expect him to answer how he knows? That's his secret :-) Bribery, you get the classic legos I'll get the money. I think a IFT would be awesome sharp spiral, I would only buy it if it came with saese tinn, RGS big buy on my list if true.

xwingyoda Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Whats a sharp spiral? :-/ Its Saesee Tiin's cool ship which looks like that: That is a set I would really love 8-
Vader Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 It's a cool ship that's for sure, if it comes with a Tiin fig then all the better. Now has anyone heard any rumor of Durge being in the new series? As far as i'm aware he was killed in the other cartoon series, so any talk of him and a ship in a set seems wrong to me.

As far as i'm aware he was killed in the other cartoon series, so any talk of him and a ship in a set seems wrong to me. He was killed by Anakin in a space ship when Anakin ripped off his helmet and drove him insane, then using this temporary insanity to push him into an escape pod previously set to fly into a star which finally killed him once and for all. So I don't see what's wrong with having him in a ship since the series takes place anywhere between his death and his first appearance. *wacko*
Vader Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Ok heres the problem: Durge was in the ORIGINAL clone wars cartoon series, in it he was killed by obi wan, But in the comics he wasn't killed until much later on by Anakin. So my question was this: Is Durge in the NEW clone wars series? If he's not then i fail to see where they will get the ship for him from, he didn't have any in the the original cartoon and he didnt have any in the comic either. So to me if he's not in the new series then i doubt we will get a fig or a ship from him as these new sets are supposed to be based on the New series and not the old.
Rune Haako Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Durge wasn't killed in the cartoon, you can see him pull himself together at the end.

Vader Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Durge wasn't killed in the cartoon, you can see him pull himself together at the end. Yes he was, at first obi wan thought he destroyed him but at the end of that ep he pulled himself back together. Later in the series durge attacked obi wan and some clones again, only to again be destroyed.... This time at the end of that ep you see him blown to bits and obi wan holding his helmet.

No. Durge did not die in the Animated Series. You can see his form re-forming itself as you see the clones and Obi-wan leave the building, so that just tells you that he didn't die. And if these sets are the real thing, then we can definitely expect Durge in the new series. Back to the sets: Who else thinks that the new RGS(damn TLC if they don't :'-( ) will be twice the size of the first one? I think it will be.

Boy do you need to re-watch the ep, i just did and what you see is obi wan holding the helmet and the clones leaving then you also see the bits of durge sliding apart like there disintergrating into the ground! That's not reforming at all, if it was reforming then it would be headed back together not apart like shown. The comics never made any attempt to fit that part of the clone wars into them, so as far as the cartoon goes it's pretty much considered that he died at the hands of obi wan. Even if he did survive theres nothing to show that he's back in the new series, i hope i'm wrong as i love his character.
OOM-9 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 trooperdavin felth is correct, Durge did not die in the animated series but later in the Clone Wars comic book series when Anakin cast him into a star. From Wookipedia: Durge overpowered the young Jedi [Anakin], but was severely damaged when Skywalker used the Force to chuck a large number of explosives at him. The following explosion tore off Durge's helmet, and launched him into a mindless fury. Skywalker exploited this and forced the bounty hunter into an escape pod. Again using the Force, the Jedi guided the pod into Maramere's star, defeating Durge once and for all. I know wikis can be unaccurate but this is correct due to the nature of the Star Wars timeline.

Did you even read the rest of this topic? I wrote that a few pages back! I am well aware of the comics and the fate shown of durge in them. >:-( My point was that it dosent show durge reforming in the cartoon, it leads you to think he died. Seriously guys i don't care if he survived the first cartoon or not. I'm just arguing about what it shows nothing more. My original question was: Does anyone know for sure that he's even in the new show??

Durge obviously can control all parts of his body at all times, so he clearly wasn't reforming with the intention of fighting Obi-wan again, hence the reason his parts seperated. At least that's my take on it. And if you like the character so much(I do too! X-D ) then why are you all for the 'He died in the series' theory? *wacko*

I'm not all for him dying at all, i'm just pointing out that the clone wars series was never spoken about in the comics where durge lived on and no ship was shown in either. Also if durge isnt in the new series, then why would we get a set with him in when the new sets are based on that show? Thats why ive been asking if anyone knows if he will be...... You know trooper im getting very pissed at your attitude lately, this isnt the first time ive warned you. >:-( Right now lets quit this and get back to discussing the rumored new sets.
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) TDF: *sits down and sighs* Very well. I never said they didn't go back together... Anyway, I wonder: Will Saesee Tinn have a helmet like he did in the first Episode? Probably not, but it would be cool to see some innovative flip-hatching on an actual minifig head. Btw, how many times I've slipped past Vader's anger... I should be called the Darth Dodger. Anyway, I apologize for being such a pain. There's really no excuse for my actions, and I am now on a 24/7 fight watch. Translation: I will control my mouth and try and see what might be really annoying to other people even if it makes perfect sense to me. Edited October 31, 2007 by trooperdavinfelth
