I did not own this set as a child, the classic technic sets I do have already have been picked or have rebuilt in studless.

However I did a few years ago acquire a mint, sealed in box set that quite frankly the seller had no idea of its worth and I pretty much stole it!

I also have possibly enough parts to make this and actually enter into voting where as [TC18] the wheels feel off, also I feel I can do a basic studless conversion

but also maybe a modern up to date version with all the bells and whistles that we techinc people crave

After a lot of googling it seems no one has done a total studless update or redux  only a semi touch up of the B model in 2013

Not even a LDD file exists, so first port of call is to make a LDD then move on to a studless conversion.

As a note of interest a lot of the original technic sets are even numbered and modern technic is Odd,

Yes a traditional Technic studded beam is based of standard System but with Technic holes between the studs. So studded Technic is even whereas studless is odd.

I love this set, and I hope you can do justice to the design. Are you going to use technic Figs?

No pressure there.... I could use the technic figures. I'm quite surprised actually how small the set is and it's about 29 pages to build it compared to a modern set.. p.s. I have built two of your unimogs so you could call me a huge fan.

I think everyone is going to run into the same problems. And use the same solutions. From traditional to modern that lower windscreen pin is half a stud out vertically and horizontally.  And yes at the moment I have taken a lot of poetic liscence with the front.  A modern twist but still the odd ques and nods to the original set.... no means set in stone..

Looks good so far, and I like the "poetic license" you have taken with the front. I am always surprised by how small these old sets are. Are you going to keep the same features? Add anything?

Thanks for the Unimog praise. I am glad I have at least one fan!
