Bob De Quatre Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 It's finally done! Last year I started to rebuild the UCS B-Wing I built years ago, trying to fix design flaws and inaccuracies, and it was a blast! I love the B-Wing, and I wanted to do it justice by trying to be as close as possible to the ILM model. I also redesigned the stand to give it a more dynamic stance, as the old one was vertical. And I also designed a small stand for a "bust" version of the B-Wing, with only the cockpit and engines blocks. I hope you'll like it, and if you're interested, the instructions are available on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-77953/BobDeQuatre/ucs-asf-01-b-wing Quote
AIex Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 This is fantastic! I love the shaping of the cockpit, even if it isn't enclosed I think it gets a much more accurate depiction than any existing windscreen piece. The little wires and dashes of red help to break up the monotony of greys, and the effect of the trans pink disks layered on top of the orange ones is very pleasing to the eye. The subtle sloping on the main wing is the icing on the cake for me. Quote
LDigital Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Very nice. I love the B-wing as its so unique. Good job Quote

Also has there been any thought as to using the cockpit for the official UCS? sorry about the questions. I love the B wing and I will definitely be buying your MOC. Quote

According to Rebrickable, 10227 has only 31% of the parts needed for my MOC. Using the cockpit part of the 10227 was a strong no from the start. I don't like that part, it has more drawbacks than benefits (mainly the canopy printing). Quote
Geihlen Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 This is incredibly well done. I missed the boat on the UCS B-Wing, but I feel way less bad about that after seeing this build. Fantastic job! Quote
