KurttKrueger Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) I just wanted to put a few images up of some updated Forestmen minifigs I've been working on. I'm very keen to intergrate the old Forestmen sets and minifigs into the style of the new Fantasy Era Castle line. Below are a few pics of what I've come up with so far. It's mainly head and item changes to make them look a little more geared up. I'm open to colour swaps to, but lack the parts to experiment. I'm thinking maybe the addition of brown arms/legs as opposed to the normal green. Here they are: Edit by Hinckley: Kurt, Sorry man, your pictures are exceedingly huge. They are over 2000 pixels. You need to please resize them to 800 or less. Here is a tutorial. Please PM me with any questions. Thanks. These piccies should be easier to see :) Kurtt, the Leader of the merry band: Jonas, second in command of the group, and Kurtt's right hand man: Luther, archer extraordinare: Willhelm, swordsman supreme: Well, there we go. I'd love to do a group shot, but I'm using the same parts over again (mostly the quiver, bow and pouch) to create the different minifigs. Once I've decided on the look, I'll order the stuff I need. Please let me know what you all think :) Edited June 11, 2008 by KurttKrueger Pictures were enormous! Please resize. Thanks. :) Quote
Norro Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Good to see interest in Forestmen, but would you mind scaling down those pics, for a single fig they're huge God Bless, Nathan Quote
keetong Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Forestmen are heaps cool I'm still looking to buy them. Not being rude but can you maybe down size your pictures Quote
KurttKrueger Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 Sorry about the picture size chaps, will resize them today and repost :) Right, resize piccies are up. Let me know if thats any better. As for the quivers, back in the old days, virtually every forestman had a quiver (except the dude with the basket on his back that came with Camoflaged Outpost), so I've continued it as sort of a theme. Also, I reason that all the forestmen would be pretty handy with a bow. I might do a brickforge order and get some of the string-less bows and sling them over their shoulders somehow. Ooh, and gauntlets... :D Quote

JimBee Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 they look great! I would love to see some more factions in the new castle line, but seeing as its fantasy era, the choices are limited. Oh yes, im happy with the knights, skeletons, drawfs, orcs, and (hopefully) elves, im hoping TLG will make up their own factions such as the forestmen again. Unfortunatlely i was not able to get the old castle sets. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Excellent KK! I've always loved Forestmen, but don't have a single one or set. These were admist my Dark Ages. The faces that you've chosen look very good. Do you plan to build a large Forestmen MOC? Quote

I'm thinking along the lines of an actual forest, rather than a base of operations. Maybe do a cart track running through a Forestmen controlled area. Think Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves meets the Ewok Village :D Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Very nice oh fellow forestmen enthusiast! I concur that they dont all need quivers if they arent packing bows Go you Greenies! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 These are some little changes you've made to the Forestmen, Kurtt. I'm pleasantly surprised by how well Indy's satchel works with them, though I think it might look better without the quiver, because right now it doesn't seem to fit quite properly. Quote
Wout Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 This looks very nice. I like the indy bags used this way. Quote
iamded Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I really like these. Their colours nicely reflect their role in combat, kind of like an improved, good version of the KK Knights. (Please, take that as a compliment. ) ~Peace Quote

Tom_castlefan Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I used the design of some of your forestmen for my own :P But unfortunately, I do not have some of the correct components. However, yours look very nice :) Tom Quote
