Yeetforlego Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Lepin is known for selling MOCs without permission from the original creator. The Question is, is it ok?
icm Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Obviously not. Mods, do we even need to talk about this?
caiman0637 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 No. JK Brickworks made a little drummer boy MOC a while ago, with free instructions. Lepin is now selling it as a set. Making money off of somebody's free instructions. It's worse when the instructions cost money, but that example really stood out to me. No, it's not okay.
Stuartn Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 (edited) NO there was another clone parts manufacturer who would sell parts, but would direct consumers to purchase the instructions from the maker. Whether that is ok is debatable, but not unfair to the little guy It is never ok otherwise especially when the instructions cost money because it detracts from the sales of the designer, and (like @onecases Jedha) saw people complain he had sold his design to Lepin, which he didn’t.
