After my dark ages I started with point 1 (Star Wars sets) but nowadays I can identify with the third point!

Well actually, I display sets for a week or so before dismantling them for parts... but there's not an option for that.

Depending on sets, my answer could vary drastically. For me SW is nearly (90%) choice 1, Viking will be the same as well as some city sets.

But for HP, KK, Spidey, mini racers (...), I will buy those only for parts, so that would make me a pure builder there.

I'm number 1. I'm not very good at MOCing, so I don't bother. Also, I never want to take my sets apart :'(

I display many sets, but also use some to build.

That just about sums me up, but I also buy many individual parts etc.. off bricklink. I don't often buy sets just for parts but I like to take some sets apart.

2. I display many sets (mostly SW and some 'castles'), but I take apart many sets, too. I have the Castle of Morcia, but I took it apart for bricks, it's has much more usefull bricks than I thought.

I display my own mocs but not official ones. Everything built eventually gets scrapped for parts.

i happen to vote lego is my life i clicked the wrong one what i ment was i am pretty much a pure builder i have a shelf full of sets no display but other then that all my sets are taken apart and i use the pieces for building

#3 My yellow castle which I got in 1979 is together, but has been apart many times in the past. I use the figs for play as well as the castle the way it is. Multiples of sets are for pieces, and most sets I buy are for pieces.....

Displays are an exception, Imperial Inspection is one I had to have, although the shuttle and the figs are all that I display. I have a tiefighter for display and a clone walker. I am a castlehead, but the LEGO StarWars is very cool and I grew up with the Kenner figs.....

I'm definitely tyep-1. I display all my LEGO sets except sets like strata box......

I don't really build any MOC. After viewing so much great MOCs in Brickshelf, I doubt that i would be able to build anything as magnificent as AFOL there.

The other reason is that, I like to keep my sets all un-mixed with others. Even the extra pieces of all my sets are kept separately for each set.

That's what Jake said in his interview, too. But sometimes brickshelf is pretty discouraging - like what I found there yesterday.

First of all, I would like to thank Hobbes for sharing the same thought with me. Btw, the pic that you provided the link is really really impressive. Sigh...... ...... :'(

However, I also like to thank ImperialJohn for inspiring/encouraging me to start building MOC.

Honestly, after voting and viewing the poll result, then only i realised there aren't many type 1 LEGO fans who mainly display the LEGO sets.

I'll try to switch my mind mode. :) I do realise that i miss out a lot of fun for not trying to build MOC. That's what LEGO is meant for, right?

Lego is a real personnal hobby/passion !!!! Lego is meant for what you want !!!!!

If you just want to build and display sets, that is just fine !!!! Do that !!

If you want to venture into the Moc world, its also great !!!! Have fun !!
