Joey Lock Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 (edited) Im creating a Junkers Ju 52: I need Ideas on Engines...I am using pieces to make the Wings, How can I make Engines? I made some for my old plane but I lost that File to check... Any Ideas? Thanks Edited June 7, 2008 by Joey Lock Quote
chewie Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 What about using dark gray macaroni bricks? Or you could use numerous plates to create a pretty nice looking round engine. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I had two thought re. your question. 1) Have you considered an engine like that of the Bi-Wing Baron. I'm not sure the design would be large enough for your plane though: 2) Could you use part of the engine from Lego's Passenger Plane: You might also want to look at the design for the new Peril in Peru plane for some inspiration. The plane looks a little similar to what you are building. Good luck! Please share an image when you finish. Quote
Fluyt Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 maybe you could use those car mudguards (with arch), as for the smooth connection to the wing, you could just use slopes (the ones you use for the wing, or others) Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 Not fully finished if I need so Update anything. Ok, Not really a Junker Ju 52 but I made it so if could be a Passenger Plane! Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 Very nice! I like how it is brickbuilt. Thanks! Pretty good for I think...£62! Quote
oo7 Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Well, the Ju 52 has a really distinctive corrugated aluminum fuselage, so I think these bricks are truly a must. I also suggest drawing inspiration from a man named Mr. Klaus Dobisch, one of the most talented historical vechical craftists the online Lego community has to offer. I would typically provide a single hyperlink to the "Gallery" displaying his multiple renditions of the plane, but hotlinking photographs as beautiful as these directly in the thread is an opportunity I can't pass up.
