Jason Rathgeber Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Tried a search and found an older thread which may not be relevant anymore. I just purchased a Deadpool Sherrif, with packaging and it looks legit to me. All the parts are genuine lego. The print looks exactly as it should. Is there any way that I can authenticate this myself? Any input would be greatly appreciated! J. Quote

If its in its proper bubble pack then it should be fine, as the fake ones come in bags (at least the one's I'm aware off). The fake ones will have a hat with less pronounced curves and will come with accessories. This shows the clone brand: https://www.brickhello.com/post/2018/10/10/sdcc-2018-sheriff-deadpool-vs-fakepool This is a custom printed one, but using real Lego parts (it won't have a belt visible on the back): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-2018-SDCC-SHERIFF-COWBOY-DEADPOOL-Custom-Printed-Block-Minifigure-/332728513676 If it comes in the bubble pack and it has the Lego logo on the pieces it should be fine. Also, price can be an indicator, the cheapest on BrickLink, which is assuredly real, is AU$1158, which is almost identical to the Canadian dollar. Edited February 19, 2021 by Stuartn Quote
Jason Rathgeber Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) Thanks for the reply! Item was purchased on EBay. Came in the bubble pack and price was close to the BrickLink guideline. The reason I am a bit apprehensive is that I have found a pad printed imitation that comes from a supplier in UK that you can’t tell the difference. Exact same hat and is pad printed like the original. J. Edited February 19, 2021 by Jason Rathgeber Quote

The holster has a circle print that is a shade darker than the other red printing on the legs I believe. That is going off the images on their site so I may be wrong and that might not be the one you were referring to. Quote
MAB Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 It is very hard to tell fakes from genuine if printed on lego parts. It helps if the seller has things like entry tickets to help prove they were there, but all the parts can be reproduced by the decent fakers (decent as in quality rather than morals). Even the blister packs can be faked very well. Quote

Expand I have asked the distributor if they could let me know of any differences between the two. Still waiting to hear back. In the meantime I have ordered one of these to compare with the one I have. Thanks for the other replies! The item did not come with a ticket but very few that are available on Ebay do. I'll post back when I get the other for comparison. Until then any other input would be appreciated! Thanks again.. J. Quote
