brolansys BLS 21 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 (edited) For this contest, I decided to recreate the first Technic motorcycle I owned, the small 2544 Shell promotional motorcycle but at a 3.4 times larger scale Features - Front suspension (through rubber bands and a yellow foam ball . . . ) - Rear suspension (through rubber bands) - Steering - 2 piston fake engine - Adjustable rear swing arm via worm gear (through a Roborider chassis piece) - Adjustable front fork via worm gear (normal worm gear box - Glow in the dark rear light via Onyx Roborider glow in the dark wheel There is also 4 Shell stickers with one located on each side Showing rear arm at high angle (Front fork and rear folded up) White sticker has seen better days . . . Not much "bodywork" to take off to show off the chassis. Power Roborider wheels are Toxic and Scout if your wondering. EDIT: And for comparison, here the box for 2544. I tried to incorporate most of the colours, structures and shape at roughly triple-ish the scale. I even considered using black pnumatic tubing to represent a giant black rubber band but couldn't get it to work or look good with it. Edited February 8, 2021 by brolansys BLS 21 Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 You used a foam ball as suspension! Now that's a new one! Quote
Jurss Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Interesting thing. But then You should try to replicate more those technic elements also in the middle. Is that foam ball made by lego? Anyway, I don't see an issue using it in this case. Quote
Seasider Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 @Jurss I just checked bricklink out of curiosity and it’s from a 1998/9 set with a robot Quote
