Hello :sweet:

I love Spaghetti Westerns.

For those who have seen "For A Few Dollars More" I did this

little vignette. It is great western! Awesome on all levels. :classic:

My MOC is not any concrete stage from this movie. This is a tribute

I made in honor of one of the best directors ever - in my opinion,

that is - Sergio Leone.

This movie is the second best western i have ever seen with

"The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" being first. If you haven't seen

this movie i suggest you watch Leone's films in chronological order

with "A Fistful of dollars" first, this one second, and finish it off with

"The good, the bad the ugly". You'll be glad you did.

A great tribute to a great film! :sweet: Nice details, but not too crouded! :sweet:

PS - A Vig is when it is on a 8x8 base, this is more like a mini diorama, still

Stauder.

Great scene! I like the little details like the ground texture and the sadles next to it. But can someone tell me why a Vignette is actually called that way?

Leone was indeed a very notable director, much ahead of his time. His work in filming "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" when united with Ennio Morricone's haunting score makes a truly remarkable cinematic masterpiece. I've been thinking of making a very similar Eastwood figure myself, that combination is definitely easily recognizable. Excellent "bignette"!

Those 3 spagetti westerns are so incredibly good, I watch them again every few years.

The good, bad and ugly is for sure in my top 5 of best movies ever.

Now, about your MOC. It would fit right in one of the Leone movies.

It's breads a bit of that mysterious "man with no name" atmosphere.

Nice job!

Very nice work! It captures the feel of FFDM quite nicely, and the Clint and Cleef figs are spot-on.

I'd certainly agree that Leone was an exceptionally talented director. Of the films you've listed, I'd add Once Upon A Time in the West and Duck You Sucker! as excellent films. They have a great emotional depth not found in the Dollars films and are works of a more mature, even melancholy director. The only one of his films I can't stand is Once Upon A Time In America: too long, its humor almost grotesque, and not a character you can identify with in the bunch (hopefully).

Fun fact: Watch Tucco's lips when he says his last line in GBU. Eli is definitely saying something more off-color than what's featured on the dub!

And now, an interesting take on Morricone to play us out (yes, it is a phrase, Mr. O'Reilly)

Nice job Majek. Aside from being a big fan of Clint's Spaghetti western triology, this MOC is a great WW vignette. You captured Clint very nicely. Excellent choice of faces, and I love the use of the Indy hat (I think it makes for an excellent WW hat). The way you you designed the landscape with the extra brown plates on the corner and the 1x1s is nicely done. The addded details like the "Keep Out" sign and the chain look great.

Overall, a very nice scene indeed.

Speaking of Spaggheti Westerns, My Name is Nobody is also a good one. :classic:

I really enjoyed Nobody as well. To be fair though, while Tonino Valerii is credited as the director, Leone produced Nobody and given he was on set during the filming, there's always been some question as to how much Leone himself is responsible for the film.

If we're talking pure Spaghetti Westerns al dente, aside from Leone, the other major name is Sergio Corbucci. Nearly all of his westerns are considered classics (or at least better films of) the genre, and The Great Silence, Django, and The Hellbenders are some of my favorites.

If you liked the comedy of Nobody, also be sure to check out the They Call me Trinity and Trinity is Still My Name, also starring Terence Hill.
