SirNadroj Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Here's the revised and modified vehicle I plan to feauture in my up-coming MOC series based on "Journey to the Center of the Earth". I call it: "The Mole" Yes, I know it can't drill or grind much above it: so how will it did tunnels through the Earth? Just wait for the story-line. It can fit three people, and plenty of tools and food. Thoughts? Quote
Anubis Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Wow! Nice! I like the design, looks like it runs on steam power. Reminds me of H.G. Wells time machine. Quote
SirNadroj Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 Wow! Nice! I like the design, looks like it runs on steam power. Reminds me of H.G. Wells time machine. Thank you kindly! It was not my intention to have this turn into anything steampunk, though that is how it turned out. What can you do when you have brown treads, bronze details, and tons of gears? Teaser picture for Chapter I currently in production. Stay tuned for the first installment sometime early next week. The dios will be lighted where necessary with "Lifelites". Excuse the terrible picture quality. That is only half the MOC. Don't want to give away too much. Quote
Asuka Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 A very original MOC, sweet, nifty and well, mole-like indeed.... clever! Quote
Belloq Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I'm sorry SirNadroj, but either, you're buying time of some illegal time selling shop, or you have the amazing ability to build and move at lightning speed! Were do you find the time to make such incredible and hig quality MOCs? Anyway, your teaser, uh, teeased me , it looks great, and I'm hoping for a simialir MOC to that Ant Attack! thing you did (which inspired me to buy 92 ants to accompany the 8 I will get with the KOTCS sets, it also moved me into building an anthill ) I can't wait to see the first chapter of this Center of the Earth Saga! cartoondude Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I have some things to say, but don't take any of it in a bad way. (hey that rhymes ) 1- This is the coolest story line of MOCs that you have ever made, Not that everything else you made isn't. I can all ready tell and am look ing forward to the story. 2- Ironically, on the Saturday before you posted the first version of the mole, I made a mining vehicle called the beetle and a mining robot. When i saw i saw your mole I was inspired to build my own, but nowhere near as cool as yours. I hope you will give me permission to to post pictures of these with credit going to you. 3- Just some suggestions: You could include some ants in your JTTCOTE MOCs as they live in the ground and i know you have so many of them. You could also include some rock monsters and a giant worm as they are also ground dwellers. Thanks for reading this, Cartoondude Quote
Stony Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Looks very steampunk. I normally hate steampunk but it works here. Quote
Norrington Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) Very nice. I love steampunk and I love Jules Verne. I think you would be able to build the bad-a$$ Disney version of the Nautilus. Now that's steam punk! Edited July 4, 2008 by Norrington Quote

xenologer Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 The Large gear at the rear and the small one immediatly in front of it are meshing, which means they have opposite rotation directions. But both are also touching the chain, this will lock it up and prevent it from rolling.... Quote
