Initial Doug Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 Hi guys, Looking for some design inspiration. I'm trying to replicate rear window louvers for a project and not coming up with the best ideas. louvers like this: I want 6 in total and the space I have is 15 studs wide by 11 stud long. I as thinking maybe of using slopes or tile across. Maybe even technic panel? I would connect the slats to the technic bar with: Shout out any suggestions, please and thanks! Quote
Gray Gear Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) I used tiles for the hood vents on my R32 Skyline GT-R here, this could give you an idea how it would look like using tiles(video shows it best) I left a half stud distance between each section, just so you know. You could also try to use the small 2x3 curved panels that come in some of the 2021 technic sets, like in the McLaren Senna. Edited December 28, 2020 by Gray Gear Quote
allanp Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 What about 5x part no 18944, overlapping by one stud with the top one fully showing? This would be 11x 13 studs. Quote
Initial Doug Posted December 28, 2020 Author Posted December 28, 2020 Thanks Gray Gear. I am assuming you used the piece below as the connection piece. How do you go about having the plates all at the same angle without wandering? Allanp, That would definitely give me the slats but I think it would be too curved for the look I'm going for. Thanks! You dont usually touch the hood vents while playing with the model, so they dont really go anywhere. That might be different for your application tho. Quote
