MichalRafal Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Hi! I bought a set 42099 with PoweredUp system. I have an issue with both XL motors. One of them has slightly higher speed and inertness (it takes more time to speed up and slow down) In this video I compared this two motors: https://youtu.be/Tqiu5wdL2WE While in set 42099 it isn't any problem, in custom creations it is. E.g in tank moc. It always turing in one direction while going straight and while accelerates or slows down. https://youtu.be/eJCxpkxrBkA I think these motors should have exactly the same speed because they have encoders and can count rotation. I wrote to Lego support and get new motors, but with the same issue (one of them has higher speed and inertness). Is there anybody with the same problem? Do you know what cause this issue and how to fix it? I will be gratefull for any help. Best regards, Michał Quote
JintaiZ Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 Hi. I have some motors too but none of them are the exact same speed. I think it's just a common issue. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 No two motors work the same. Fact of life. Quote
BrickBuildingFox Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) You could use two diffenentials to create a straight line of motion as explained on this site: https://groups.csail.mit.edu/drl/courses/cs54-2001s/dualdiff.html Just noticed, those motors should have the orientation sensor so it should be possible to adjust the speed by dynamically in the powered up app...
