In general, the sizes are very much comparable. The 75211 TIE Fighter was my starting point for this MOC. The solar panels are the same size. The cockpit will be marginally bigger because I had to fit the landing gear, but it's barely visible because it's also a bit rounder. The wingspan is a bit wider, by two studs in total, but it's easy to reduce it: Just remove the round elements on each side (98585) and use the regular 2-stud long black pins instead of the 3-stud long blue pins as connectors and replace the axle that's going through with one that is one stud shorter. Then it'll look a bit more boxy (I like the round piece in there breaking up the rectangular shape of the wing-beams), but you'll also have the same wingspan as on the 75211.

If you're interested, I can go into a bit more detail as to which parts you'd need and not need for the conversion and where in the instructions that would be relevant.
