You have threatened before and I just wanted to express my feelings, since this is the proper place to do that, being my character is already dead. And don't try that "I won't kill him, Ragnir will" crap on me! By you making threats that you will kill someone if no one is condemned, it just changes the whole gameplay, and that sucks big time because now you are no longer a host, but you have become a player.

Don't you start telling me how to run my game too. Soon everyone's going to be saying how they think things should be done!

Anyway, as you may know, if nobody is voted for, then the game doesn't progress. Therefore in Day 10 I made a little threat to make sure the game kept flowing. Of course, I would never have carried it out, because that would be unfair, but it sure did the trick. You should have seen the looks on their faces! Or at least I would have liked to, it would have kept me laughing for days! I would never be unfair to a player however, everyone has an equal chance of winning when they start, it all comes down to how well they play the game. Did anyone honestly think I would sit down with a die and eliminate someone? Well, now that you mention it, I guess some people did, but hey, I know that I would never do that.

You may recall that I often give out hints, whether they be true or false, about the players. This is to challenge them to defend themselves. Otherwise, what would there be to talk about?

Despite this though, as the game host, I have every right to run this game as I please. So there. But I would hope that you would trust me enough to run this game without needing to have someone else tell me what to do every 5 minutes. I'm sick of it! Did you not enjoy yourself? From what I can see, every one else is, despite IS's complaints. If nobody's having fun, then we should cancel the game right now, and say no more about it. I was hoping to run another one sometime in the future, but obviously nobody likes the way I do things... :cry_sad: Oh well, I'll just go curl up in a hole somewhere... *snivel*

Well if I sounded like I was telling you what to do, then I am sorry. That was not my intention to tell you how to run YOUR game. I just felt that since I had been removed already, and I wanted to voice my opinion, that this was the place to do that. So, I will make sure never to step on your toes again. I was just surprised that a host actually involves himself in a game like this so much! But judging by your post, what do I know?

Will not happen again!

That's OK buddy, I don't mind that much. It's good that you have an opinion, and I appreciate the feedback. I do admit I am bit more involved in the game than many hosts. But I'm not just your average host now, am I? I've tried making it a different experience for everyone by giving subtle clues etc. and I think it's been working. I like to think of myself as a change from those boring hosts which never say anything and are complete control freaks. Well, perhaps that last bit isn't quite true, but you know what I mean.

Also, I like being involved. It's no fun being left out. That's why I look forward to taking a break from being the host after this game finishes and taking part in someone else's game, before I return to try out another one of these. :classic:

This being my first game i have no pre-existing expectations of a marfia game, I assumed a host like in D&D could do as he liked even kill every one and get new people in, or even mix up the night actions half way through the game. Compared to these Dragonator killing off people that violate game rules or post very little posts and contribute nothing to a full days happenings is completely with in his right. If I were killed off randomly I would not take it personally, and yes a dice rolling is completely fair and makes tactics in the game completely necessary. For example right now in the game if we stop voting completely then night actions gain far too much power, consider if Marcus was still in the game! He would have free range at killing us all off! Some are making sure no votes are made stopping the games progress, is that in the games interest?

Dragonator I am having a ton of fun, I think you have done a great job and is still going unlike another mafia game I have heard about! Perhaps your way of doing it is more successful than the previous ones. One thing is very clear to me Dragonator always has the games best interests at heart, all this criticism is rather disappointing, when he is doing such a fine job.

thats my opinion on the matter, it is extremely boring for me if there is no random killing and no one wants to vote! Unless everybody is given night actions the game is slow and tiresome with nothing happening except the report of the night findings!

Regards Cpt PB

I should add that I thought it was a rule, if no vote was reached a character would be randomly killed, if I were to run a game I would have this as a rule!

Thanks Blocky for your kind words, I feel much better now. :cry_happy: I'm glad your enjoying it, and it's good to see that you at least appreciate the work I'm putting into this.

Yes, a good idea, and next time I might just put it in the rules. However, I have already stated that I won't kill anyone tonight. That doesn't mean I won't do something equally horrible if nobody is voted off today though.

Oh no, I certainly don't mean you in that group. I've read through your Western Mafia threads, and you were an excellent host. In fact, I think most people on EB would be good hosts, as I don't know a single person on here who I would consider boring. Might you perhaps be thinking of doing another one once Mystery Castle finishes? I would love to play in one of your games. :sweet: It's fun being the host, but then, it's also really fun being a character too.

Oh yes, and it's good to try and avoid random killing if at all possible.

If you guys want, I could ban him...

Damn I forgot you could do that. :sceptic: Oh wait, I just got a note:

I could ban your face.

What, that's a bit lame, and doesn't even make sense! You sure are crazy Lady Dolores, or whoever you are... :look:

Note to self: make Dragonator unvotable in the next game I host..

Yes, I do have one planned, though I may wait until a mafia game after MC finishes, as I'd like it to be a little more complicated.

Are we continuing with Roman Mafia after this? That Aventine pig still hasn't been killed...

Count me in! This kind of thing would be fun with a decent host.:laugh:

He knows I'm kidding. :look:

Dragonator makes the game interesting, no doubt about that! And yeah, I did have fun for my 3 days of involvement. Please, count me in for your next one TPRU!!! I am more than excited to participate!

Hey, sorry I havn't been posting much. I've been Family Reunioning... anyway, hoping the next day will be up soon so that I can get back in the game!

I understand wholly Zepher, no prob there =D

(Plus it's fun to think of reasons why Mary wouldn't say much...too much Rits for you to handle? )

Anywho, I myself might host a mafia game in the not so distant future - my only problem? I have a severe lack of parts in system...so I'd probably either be reusing a lot of characters and backdrops, or I'd have to appoint someone to make the scenes, and that probably wouldn't end too well haha...I could try either way, though; any of you guys have any ideas?

I've got experience with hosting and playing in mafia games (been doing it since 03 =D), and I think you all might find my gamestyle a little refreshing...=D

(Also, one more thing - I might consider making it non-lego should I be unable to find a way to make the models; in this case, would it be alright for me to put it in Community, mods/admins? Thanks!)

I doubt we'd want to host a non-LEGO themed game in community, but I see no reason why parts limitations should keep a LEGO one from happening. As long as you can manage a set of characters, how much more do you really need? Don't use Draggy as an example, he takes the building side of this to an extreme, when it's really just a strong story and interesting night actions that are required.

We should all get night actions  now that would make for chaotic nights!

Your face takes things to the extreme.

Well, I have some strong story on the way for you all, I'm typing it up now, and doing the editing etc. Hopefully it will be up soon.

I am very confused in Day 13. Although I did not follow closely for the past few days, but I don't understand by Cpt P.B/LTA Byron's death message.

Are you leaving the game or are you throwing smoke screen to divert us? It seemed from your last post, you opted for suicide, and reveal the truth... What is going on? I am very confused. :sadnew:

The game was slowing.

What I wrote does not need to be true!

All that is sure, is that I no longer live. A traitor or loyalist, perhaps a merc, who wins if someone survives...

Sprinkles has been left behind however, he shall be the only way of knowing what I intended!

No body knows whats going on! just the way it should be! those who look close enough will find it easily.

Is Day 13 really the last day? Is all that's left the end of the story! Man, I'm really interested! Hurry Draggy!

I can tell these nicknames are going to last.

The conclusion will be up tomorrow, once I've written it. All will then be revealed! It will contain a fair amount of reading, as I will conclude the story and then go on to reveal everyone's roles, some hidden rules, and a list of things I feel I need to improve on for the next game. I will also most definitely be wanting all of your opinions. :classic: So, once it's up, fire away!
