n1majneb Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 *Your entry has earned 10 XP* Mandalore. A planet I only remember from stories told and one I never truly believed to see again, as I erupt from Hyperspace the planet fills my screen. I falter as I study the planet before my comms readout steals me from my reverie - The Imperial agent I have tracked from Ziost has finally been spotted and it has brought me to Mandalore, it's brought me home... - Pursuit brings me to a wealthy district of Sundari and I see my quarry enter an apartment. Unseen I make my way to the dwelling and listen to the conversation within... I can make little of the conversation from outside other than the threat for money, All of a sudden I hear a wail and a cry of 'Please, no!' and I make my entry A flash bang announces my presence to the scene and as the agent reaches for his pistol I throw him against the wall. A wealthy apartment, Clan markings on one wall with the other adorned with imported Wroshyr drift wood - all trappings of wealth. "I've been following you for some time, did you not learn from Zi-' drawn to something the woman was clutching I take it from her hand as she cowers against the wall - Shoulder armour with a distinctive marking: "Where did you get this? Where!" The Imperial laughs in my face "Pyerce sends his regards" On this, fellow Mandalorians enter and question the disturbance "Take him away for questioning, he's an Imperial agent...Loyal to Pyerce" Pyerce resilient! I thought we'd seen the last of this Imperial remnant leader. Clan Eldar would not let him escape again, we'd track both him and his troops across the galaxy to make sure this time. As the woman is lead away, following her son to questioning, I apologise for her sons loyalties and actions and draw my communicator out - The Clan needed to know of this sinister turn of events... Spoiler My first Cat A entry for Pyerce's return, i'd planned to continue the story of tracking the Imperial agents forced from Ziost and this episode certainly helped with this. Mostly SNOT built, i'm also pleased with the panel heater on the wall too! On to the next entry... Quote
Ross Fisher Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Some really nice details in this build. For example, the use of those 3x1 smooth-bottomed plates for the light fixtures works really well. I should confess, when I first saw the wall mount I thought it was a tower block seen out the window. I was trying to figure out who you fitted a forced perspective in such a small build. The whole build does have a very "Mandalore" aesthetic to it, so kudos for that. I think my biggest issue is the placing of the plant pot. It's just a bit too central and distracting. Might work better to tuck it into a corner. My other suggestion would be to find a camera angle where you can't see the white background through the crevices between the bricks. I know that's really hard, though. I think it's why I prefer using black backgrounds. Quote
n1majneb Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Thanks, i've time to tweak this There're two plants so i can shift these around and bring the small one to the fore instead and i think i can address the light leak too I'm glad the Mandalorian aesthetic comes across - I did some homework to check the fit Quote
n1majneb Posted November 25, 2020 Author Posted November 25, 2020 And updated, I agree that the black works better @Ross Fisher good shout! Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 The story is good and there are some nice techniques but I feel this is maybe a little too cluttered. Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Interesting -maybe a bit messy interior, and cool to see the story play out in the build! Quote
dvogon Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I like the decorations of this dwelling and how the story develops inside. A bit too cluttered at times, but nice overall. Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Took my a minute to catch, but your foliage under the trans-clear floor is very cool. Adds a lot to the build. Quote
