LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Hello everyone, today I want to present my version 2.0 of the beautiful rail-excavator created by @ColletArrow I've replaced the two command with strings and rubber bands on the second side of the scraper with the hydraulic pistons that allow a stable and elegant movement. I left only the command to raise the main arm. To make this work I had to cut four pins:n. 3 parts 11214n. 1 part 4274 here you can find a short video Quote
Gioppa Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 You know i don't like when you cut the lego or use not lego parts... i'm a purist.. Quote

ColletArrow Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Good job - it's very nice (and simultaneosly somehow a little strange) to see people using my LDD files! It's also good to see it with proper 'rams', rather than the strings. And as for the pins; I managed to make it work without cutting anything by using technic 1/2 pins, but each to their own! Quote
SteamSewnEmpire Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 I like this even more. Great work. 8 hours ago, Gioppa said: You know i don't like when you cut the lego or use not lego parts... i'm a purist.. At this scale, Lego often simply doesn't give us the parts to do what we need. Quote

Paperinik77pk Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Nice rework of an already nice MOC! This little excavator is amazing! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Great work (to both the originator and the modifier) on the road/rail excavator. It's sized properly, yet amazing details. Quote

Apologies for hijacking the thread a little, but it's nice to hear this - I went back and forth quite a lot before I settled for this size, so I'm glad you agree it's right. The other thing is that looking back at my original thread, I realised I enjoy looking at @LEGO Train 12 Volts's photographs more than my own - they're just so much cleaner and brighter than I managed, and without the visible command strings the boom does look a lot tidier! Thank you for the appreciation, but looking at your photos I prefer your setting with the addition of the service trolley ...it is really true that the neighbor's grass is always the greenest! Quote
