This is my first attempt at a technic alternate model 

Functions: articulated HOG steering; elevating dozer blade and working single cylinder fake engine.

although I couldn’t get enough friction to hold the blade in the “up” position.

For your first alternative model, I think it looks great.

The gaps between the bricks could be avoided though.
