Doctor Sinister Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The Mighty Lizbet Railway Cannon is capable of firing multiple types of ordnance. Details follow. HIGH-EXPLOSIVE These shells contain simple contact-fused high-explosive warheads designed for maximum devastation over a wide area. They are the most basic and most numerous type of shell used by the Mighty Lizbet. ARMOUR-PIERCING These shells contain simple armour-piercing warheads designed for bunker-busting. Note the more streamlined shape. Once penetration has been achieved, the shell will explode within the enemy emplacement to cause maximum destruction inside. ANTI-PERSONNEL These shells contain multiple anti-personnel bomblets and are designed for use against large enemy troop formations. The warhead can be fused to explode at altitude where the bomblets will then spread over a wide area, either exploding amongst enemy troops or laying dormant until disturbed to cause maximum inconvenience. ANTI-VEHICLE Similar to the Anti-Personnel shell, the less numerous and larger bomblets inside these warheads are designed to destroy or delay enemy convoys as they spread over a wide area from height. This type of shell is useful for denying enemy forces the use of airfields or other staging areas. SEISMIC MINE This type of warhead is designed to penetrate deep into the ground where it will explode and cause seismic tremors beneath enemy positions. It can also be programmed to remain dormant and detonate at a pre-determined time. Leaving it alone can present a hazard to enemy troops and the liberal use of seismic mines can cause major problems for enemy units. NAPALM Napalm shells explode at altitude and spread burning petroleum jelly over an area several square miles across. This is a hazard for both enemy troops and vehicles. FOGGER This type of shell is non-destructive but spreads a thick cloying smoke over a wide area from altitude. This smoke is very hard to disperse, generated from small bomblets which will spread far and wide and continue to pump smoke for up to an hour. The effect can be used to cover an advance from nearby troops or to deny the enemy the use of an airfield or other staging area. POISON GAS Gas shells have so far never been used in combat but a small stockpile of them does exist in case the enemy should decide to resort to such tactics. The gas is chlorine based and can cause respiratory failure and death or severe burns. These shells can be set to either explode at altitude or on contact with the ground. NERVE GAS Nerve gas shells have so far never been used in combat but a small stockpile of them does exist in case the enemy should decide to resort to such tactics. The gas kills unprotected troops instantly. These shells can be set to either explode at altitude or on contact with the ground. NUCLEAR Nuclear warheads have so far never been used in action, but the Mighty Lizbet routinely carries a few wherever she goes. These are tactical nukes, small battlefield weapons with a low yield and minimal fallout, designed to wipe out enemy troop formations or bases. They are typically contact warheads, but can also be used at altitude. Dr. S. Quote

iamded Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 NUCLEARThey are typically contact warheads, but can also be used at altitude. But that wouldn't look nearly as cool now, would it? These are all very cool, simple in the creation, but really bringing out the greatness in the descriptions and backstory. Your army is growing with every day, or MOC, but it still is looking fantastic! A serious rival to those Bestlock forces. ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Very nice, I love it when a Mocer gets a lot of detail with the little things, it's great you have all the ordnance figured out, I like the napalm one for the trans orange, but aren't they illegal? Batbrick Away! Quote

We are in war with an enemy that doesn´t care if something is illegal or not,Comerade! So why should we care about using napalm? Anyway a very goood idea to show all the kinds of ammunition the Mighty Lizbet uses,Dr. S. Quote
Wilhelm screamer Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Seeing how future-tech oriented the Tabletown army is, I am surprised to see a complete lack of a plasma round. May I build one for you? Quote

Curses - you are right. I missed a trick there. Considering that the Triumph LAVs mount plasma cannon...I'm a fool! Go for it my friend. Dr. S. Quote
Wilhelm screamer Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) Sorry it took so long... E.P.R. (Experimental Plasma Round) Only two of these rounds have ever been produced. Intended megablocks a "Convoy stopper" rather than devastation weapon. Only targets within 10 feet of the point of impact suffer any physical damage (vaporization), out side of that range the plasma instantaneously spreads itself out and far to thin to cause any harm. Instead it creates an EMP field that completely cripples any vehicle within a 4 mile radius of the piont of impact and lasts for several months. Because of its' primarily nonlethal status, Emperor Eternal Doctor Sinister choose not to have it produced and set the scientist that developed it into exile (although that scientist managed to escape with the only other prototype before disappearing under unknown circumstances before he could be captured...). Great model - beautiful write-up! You seem to know Doctor Sinister so well! Brilliant stuff. FYI, I spent some hours modifying the ammunition loading carriage for the train tonight, and it now has a 7th carriage, a second ammo' carriage to store the extra rounds. I'll post pix tomorrow but the whole train is about 6 feet long now - and the new loading mechanism is very cool, even if I say so myself! Dr. S. Quote
