[MOC] Astrobot Hovercraft "Explorer" Series

[The Neighborhood Merchant]

The newest hovercraft "Explorer" is out and ready to chart unseen planets. Currently, the ship's crew (Biff Starling and Sandy Moondust) are taking some readings of the planet's natural resources to bring back to study the geology of the planet.

The little rover can be stored in the back of the ship if needed.

I've always wanted the Biff Starling and Sandy Moondust minifigures to have a ship, so I did my best to try to fit their theme. Hope you enjoyed it and as always, happy travels Earthling!

Neat!  Something a little different.  I like it.  Nice choice of colors, and those chrome gold highlights are great.  Also nice to see I'm not the only person who thinks those Technic chairs work well for minifigs too.

Thanks @deraven! I have a chrome problem so it's always nice to see people enjoying it! I've always loved those chairs, I just wish I can get the minifigures to stay in them. Glad you liked it!

If you put a Technic half or 3/4 pin in one of the holes in the seat pointed in, it helps to keep the minifig more secure.  I don't like the look of it, but depending on the need it can help.

And the chrome isn't a problem... in moderation.  (Moderation is always the problem!   )

@deraven I've tried the half ones before, but sadly they just don't look that good. I never thought of the 3/4s pins. That's a good idea, I'll certainly give it a try! I wonder if you combine them with a dark red thin lift arm if it would capture a nice regal look.

Hah, so true with the moderation part. Sadly, I'm still working on it! I probably have damaged the UCS Naboo set market with my many chrome purchases...
