Some Guy With LEGO Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) Town: Billsville (named for 'Bill' of 'Bill and Mary' fame [Ideas Book 6000] - there is even a statue of Bill in Central Park) Population: 121 Industry: Transportation, Resource Sector, Tourism Design Background: An excuse to buy LEGO sets when my kids buy LEGO sets. I tried to keep to official sets as much as possible, but modifications are of course needed to make it all fit. SIdewalks are all double plate high, so buildings can be removed at will. I debated going with the CREATOR modular series instead, but decided (perhaps unwisely) to go with CREATOR 'Mini-Modulars' as they 1) fit better with City LEGO 2) cheaper 3) smaller and 4) keep more in scale with old school LEGO Town. It's not done, and that's the idea - keep adding to it as LEGO set releases allow.... Thanks for your time! Edited August 4, 2020 by Some Guy With LEGO wording Quote
gabrielerava Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) Very nicely done. The layout is well thought and cleverly executed with a global nice balance of the buildings. ? Edited August 4, 2020 by gabrielerava Quote
Some Guy With LEGO Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) thanks very much - coming from you that's a big compliment! Also, please keep in mind that in case any residents of Rava Town need to get away from the action and noise of big city life, Billsville is a tourist destination with small town feel, more relaxed pace of life, and great for camping and boating. Unfortunately there is no local airport, so access from ferry or train only (when the rail line is complete mind you). Also, no Wi-Fi. Edited August 4, 2020 by Some Guy With LEGO Quote
greg3 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 That looks great so far... I've tried to create a "classic town" feel using official sets including the creator "mini modulars" in my town too (especially the older closed back versions from a few years ago) The tribute to Bill and Mary is my favourite part though!! (I still have that ideas book) And Bill and Mary's descendants (Bill and Mary jnr.) happen to live in my town and tend to pop up regularly in my weekly updates... here they are are in the most recent one!! Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr Anyway, thanks for sharing - looking forward to seeing more!! Quote

csfiatkos Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 i have exactly all those sets but not the space to set them like that. you did a great job and matched some not-easy-to-match creator sets. well done! Quote

As for space, we have a very modest house, and I've now had to move Billsville 3 times, so now it's squeezed next to the furnace! Quote
Wesley D Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Very fine charming town you have! It looks like an ideal place for minifigures to go to for a relaxing day out! It is nice how you have incorporated all those official sets in a heartwarming scape with an old school LEGO vibe. Quote
