Sneakguest Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 Question: Have lego identified this figure afterwards or somebody have identified the character by any name? sw0861https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=sw0861#T=S&O={"ss":"SE","iconly":0} Quote
ARC2149Nova Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 A long time ago I researched the same question, unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, that pilot hasn't been identified in any promotional material (like a visual dictionary), or any current Expanded Universe material. It's likely a concept art design that never made it to the final film (replaced by Finch Dallow, I suppose). That's all I was able to gather. Quote

Lego themselves have said it was based off of preliminary sketches and movie material, and only after the film was released did they find that the Finch Dallow character was featured significantly in the bomber scenes and should be included with the set. It should be noted that he's not named in the film at all (not even the credits) but is featured in a Star Wars novel. So, yeah, it's just a random pilot figure, and I guess you could say that it's a character that didn't even end up existing in SW. Quote

Well lego has done mistakes before (at least I believe they were concidering screening time, like when they brought Boolio into a set instead for example that snaillooking guy who had considrable more screening time, or the mole from R1 who were just seen a few seconds), but at least if the character has a name and can be recognized in the movie, it's okey. But when it's like this, I just feel disapointed. But then it also really make sense why the change to Finch Dallow later. Wonder what the percental division is between generic not really existing pilot and Finch. Quote
