highlandcattle Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I built this little steamer yesterday. It was an impluse built. (I was actually going to work on an interior for a house). But I ave to say this is the best work I've ever done. the pictures really don't do it any justice. It is probably also the most SNOT I have ever done. Suprisingly The locomotive works very well. In this movie You can see it pull two off my very heavy and long coaches. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/highland...es/pict0706.mov Check my brickshelf for more pictures wwhen moderated: Clickie! Grakul Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 That's a great locomotive! I especially like how you built the driver's compartment, with those upside down arches. Quote
Legolas Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Verry nice A+ For an impulse build it's great. I think you have to make more impulse stuff. Quote
Holodoc Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I think you have to make more impulse stuff. I second that. I´ve never seen the main body made with curved bricks. That´s a great idea! Quote
Asuka Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 A wonderful work, very detailed and charming and in a great color scheme too! Choo-choo on! Quote
highlandcattle Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Thank you all for the kind comments. I don't understand why the folder isn't public yet. I posted it two days ago. Quote

highlandcattle Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Now it is.But a pink waggon? You MUST be joking... It goes togehter well with your son's all male disco . Just kidding. I wanted to use the colour once. And I find pink charming Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Very nice H&C. This is a really slick engine. I esp. like how you designed the boiler. Are those round pieces? I also like the design of the cabin. The use of the upside down arch is very clever. Overall, a nice train indeed. Great job! But the link to your clip doesn't seem to work for me. Quote

It will work right now! (I accidently deleted it) Yes they are just regular round bricks (for example the wheels of the mine defender) Thanks for the nice comments (actually the entire cabin is built upside down including the wheels (this could not work with 9v wheels ). The roof is attached with half technic pins in the arches Quote
Legolas Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 The pink wagon is lovelly I saw at your site the medieval houses they are great ! maybe you can make a nice train for my diorama Quote
simonwillems Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 That is a really nifty steamengine you have created here. At first glance it looks like any other locomotive, but on closer inspection half of it seems to be build upside down which really adds to the amount of detail. I especially like the use if the arches for the back side. Is the back wheel placed on a turntable or is the train capable of going through curves without that being necessary? Quote

The entire boiler and cabin are only connected with the technic pin on the motor and one of the round parts on the engine. This way it can easly turn in corners. Quote
