Brickfan Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I have been trying to fill in the gaps of my Lego clone minifigures and have a question regarding the Commander Fox minifigure. Commander Fox was only available in one Star Wars Lego set (7861). I was trying to confirm the figure in the Lego Character Encyclopedia and the picture is clearly different then the figure shown on Bricklink and widely available on ebay. The Character guide shows the red striping in the stomach area of the torso down to the beltline. The Bricklink picture shown NO red striping in the stomach area, but instead has a grey semi circle. All of the examples that I have found offered on ebay have the grey semi circle. Is the Character Encyclopedia version wrong or are there actually two version of the Commander Fox minifigure? sw0202 by Bruce Kazmierczak, on Flickr IMG_0088 by Bruce Kazmierczak, on Flickr IMG_0088 (2) by Bruce Kazmierczak, on Flickr Quote
Kit Figsto Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I checked my Fox figure, it also has that gray circle. My bet is that the Character Encyclopedia photograph is maybe either a prototype or a very early production example. Looking at the closeup image, it looks like there's still an outline where the gray would be filled in, but nothing there, which leads me to believe that it was probably a prototype sample. That said, if there was ever a variation, I would guess that it's pretty rare seeing as I've never heard this pointed out before and the only examples seem to be with the gray circle. Quote
