Hi there, folks!
I'd like to share with you my version of F1 as an alternate for the 42039 24h Le Mans Technic set.
It all stated as a pump-up of the original F1 alternate by Demian but ended up as a totally new model as i redesigned every part of it (except the front and rear suspension which are pretty generic).
I was focused on getting the shapes and proportions close to real F1 cars along with making the structure robust.
Feature are:
  • manual steering with inverse rotation of the steering wheel (wasn't able to fix that)
  • 2 axis adjustable rear view mirrors
  • openable hood for engine check and maintenance
  • grab-proof structure
  • pure alternative - no extra parts were used in this build

You can find more details, high-res photos, some videos, and general discussion about this model in my original FB post.

Sorry, first time posting here, so, didn't get the idea of inserting images at first (shame on me).
Here you are:

This one shows my progress on finding the perfect shape of the side air intakes.
It took me a month to nail it.

Another sub-challange was to motorise the model without dramatic change of the main structure and car's shapes.
I was able to almost pailessly integrate 2 L Motors, 1 servo and Buwizz inside:

Total weigth is a bit too high and I wasn't able to get much speed out of the gear set without changing the rear part of the motor mount an the body.
Anyways, it wasn't for the actual race competition but just a proof of the possibility to PF the model.

The instructions is on the way. It takes hell of a time to generate all the steps as a photo sequence. Also, as i've finished the first version and ran a re-buiding test, I found that some steps are not clear to assemble. Also, I did some tweaks here and there in the model as well, so... I had to dump out a half of the pictures and re-shoot again. Hopefully it will came out at rebrickable in a couple of weeks or so.

Hey guys, It's been a year+ long ride but eventually I've managed to finish the building instructions for my F1 alternate!
I have to say it was quite an experience... I did a number of polishing tweaks all over the model while doing re-builds in order to check if the instruction is really works.
So, anyways, here it is, as a high quality detailed step by step PDF file: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-71203/nurb/formula-1-racing-car

I would like to thank all of you guys who will get their copy and then share photos and opinion about this model with the community!
Please, report any issues, miss steps or errors in the instructions thich you might discover during the building process.

Cheers!
