Hey all, hope everyone is doing ok in the current climate!

As part of the work on my layout I'm building a small maintenance/repair shop for my trains. I got tired of sorting dark red bricks so I've been building some of the equipment. So far got a lathe, drill press and grinder but I'm thinking to add a milling machine, shaper, welding cart/station, broaching machine and maybe a furnace out the back. Hope you like 'em! :)

Grinder (+ bonus big boy tap wrench!)

Cheers!

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I've just added a 3-axis milling machine to the lineup:

And here's a little shot of the building so far. It's pretty tight as you can see, but there's some alcoves at the back that give a bit more room. Still will probably end up extending it!

Really cool build! The machines look great and I love the red brick style for your building! Can't wait to see more picture of it.

As a cnc maintenance man and former machinist I can tell you that you need four more studs of clearance than you currently have between the front of the machine and the rail.  But I can tell you this your machines are very well done and instantly recognizable! Looking forward to seeing the complete build!

Thanks everyone! I've just added a little welding cart to the lineup. Nice change of pace from all the grey.

Thank you :D Re the width of the building - it was limited because of where it sits on the layout, but I think I've got a plan for solving that.

Cheers!

A few new additions to the lineup :)

Shaper, based on the old cincinnati models:

Gear shaper, based on an old Fellows 6A machine:

... and, a Technic-scale Haas UMC-750, with motorised spindle :)

Looks really great those machinery, all those wheels, levers and stuff, very detailed.
the Building looks promising too. Nice shot too with the lighting.
What is it in the middle?

Thanks! The middle is an inspection pit for trains - the building is a maintenance shed :)

I already thought so but I was not sure. I saw the rails but the space between it looks so small.
Do you have some pics of the rest of the building?

Sorry man I only just saw your message! I made a separate thread for the building a couple of weeks ago :)
