Brickwolf Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Every experienced soldier knows, make yourself as comfortable as possible in the field. Otherwise you will stay wet, cold and hungry. So tents were erected in Brickford Landing and make shift furniture was built. Now the redcoats can enjoy their meal in relative comfort. While preparing and eating their meal the soldiers keep their rifles at arms length, ready to grab them immediately. The grenadier ist leaving for guard duty, providing security for the camp. Spoiler Licensed as a small residence. Quote
Beleg the Ranger Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Good job! My only suggestion is to have fewer studs exposed. Even though Brickford landing is Corrington, it is interesting to see it developing, as I am fairly new to BoBs, and getting to know more how the game works. Quote
Sir Kingston Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Great work, the tent is simple but effective! Quote
SilentWolf Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 I love that brickbuilt tent. I may need to borrow that design in the future. The figures are well posed and I like the accessories used to make the camp look believable (especially the food). Also nice use of slopes and plates to give some depth and texture to the ground. As for improvement, I like that you attempted to do foliage in the background with the leaves, though I am not sure I find it convincing. I think making one tree or bush using the leaves would be better overall than the upright leaves. from me for the GOC. PS. Your link in the "For the Glory of Corrington" thread doesn't work right so you probably want to edit that. Quote
Bodi Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I like the build, it's a simple and effective way to present a camping scene. Didn't know that Ice planet guy was a Corrie. Quote
Ayrlego Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Nice work Brickwolf. The scene is simple yet convincing and the tent is especially nicely done. As Beleg mentions I think that breaking up the exposed green studs of the base would improve the scene. Perhaps using some more variation in plate height and colour and maybe some more vegetation? Maybe some earthy coloured plates/tiles such as reddish brown or dark tan might have given a more trampled feel around the campfire/tent. Like Silentwolf mentioned I also appreciate the use of the vegetation as a background although I do agree with his comments on an additional tree/bush. from me. Quote
Roadmonkeytj Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I love that tent design ... Can we get a breakdown? Quote
