what a pity u had no replies here so far. i had actually the same idea some years ago. i used the dark brown hull pieces instead and for the stern i also used a hull piece, so back and front have the same shape as in 4195, 10210 or 6243. i didnt like it too much xD

now funny thing is, that this year, just 2 weeks before the reveal of the bsb 2.0 21322, i expected to get a pirate bay only, so i bought original sails and hull and masts of 6285, my all time favourite pirate ship, to have a ship next to the bay, too. ( facepalm ) then built the rest with new parts. i ended up with the same work arounds for the yellow arch bricks and yellow decoration bricks like you, also the same workaround for the storage hatches and cabin roof.

long story short, i have three points to your version:

1) the brickbuilt stern is a problem, doesnt seem to fit very well to the overall style or shape of the ship

2) what kind of sails did u plan to use? old bsb, new bsb, customs?

3) the black modified bricks facet 3x3 in the bow have not been used for ages in that color so i wouldnt consider them as "new parts"...

i am sorry if i sound to criticful, i like ur work very much and i appreciate ur efforts with the instructions!

I didn't create this. I just found it on Facebook and thought it is an interesting idea, so I posted it here.

The only thing I did, was downloading all the photos from the Facebook album (cause downloading the PDF from google-drive is deactivated), join them to a PDF file and putting it in my Dropbox.

Hence the PDF file from Dropbox has 4 more pages than the one from google-drive.

And this whole idea got me thinking into this:

And now the real question:

You buy a used set of the original Black Seas Barracuda or do you build yourself one with the new parts?

ok, i misunderstood, so all credits to patrice on fb xD

i would say, to be honest, as Barney Stinson in how i met your mother used to say "new is always better"

so, besides the points i mentioned, i also came across 3 more points:

4) the canon wheels are not available in reddish brown as in the instruction given

5) the black arch piece 1x6 in the bow is nowadays only in raised version, except u have a set frpm 2009 or 2010 like 6253...

6) you could maybe also use the space under the cabin to put a working rudder as in 6286 or a hidden treasure space as in 70413 + u could switch light bl. grey deck plated into dark tan as in modern lego pirate ships

just minor things, but it stacks...u have to decide...original and old, or newer, more modern and all for most more fitting to your probably other pirate ships like bsb 2.0, potc ships, 70413, the upcoming creator pirate ship and so on....i built 6285 with modern parts, except hull,  masts, rigging, steering wheel, anchor  winch and canon wheels and sails. so i kept all the classic old brown pieces. i have to say it looks great, but you can feel it doesnt really fit to the other modern ships...i think switching the old brown to modern reddish brown pieces is cheaper and much more easy to get in good or perfect condition and fits better to all the rest modern pirate sets...
