HorcikDesigns Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 (edited) Hello there, I had prepared this truck for this season for Lego Technic Truck Trial championship (LTTT). It has two L motors for propulsion, one M motor for steering, lockable central differential (via mini pneumatic actuator), two separate rear driveshafts, two rear axles with quite good travel and articulation, relatively soft Technic brick frame (so the front axle could stay without suspension), six tractor tires and no fenders. And most- importantly, it is olive green. And as I found during filming, also slightly calling for rebuild or modifications. >>>>INSTRUCTIONS finished:https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-52870/Horcikdesigns/offroad-truck/#bi >>>> I know, the video is way too long, but I wanted to show how it performed in my private (social distance friendly) Truck Trial track (section) I planned to control it via classic LTTT controller - who knows czech LEGO Technic truck trial, knows what I mean * - but for the video I decided to test my new BuWizz. It performed well, but capacity is not sufficient for whole racing day. It is the reason why I do not use difflock in the video - it is controlled with pneumatic cylinder, and the pump was supposed to be placed on the controller. (* who do not know what it is, find some LTTT video on YT (https://youtu.be/jA3WcXi6YXU)) You can find some photos of it on my Instagram, and I would also like to upload some photos of it to Bricksafe https://bricksafe.com/pages/horcikdesigns/praga-v3s-trial-truck-lttt2020 WIP photos also exist. First idea (before the release of the 42110) was to use Gulf livery, but I'll save this for another project. The smaller truck is also model of Praga V3S, but first working sketch model is yet available via Rebrickable in form of .io file. MajklSpajkl Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I love the olive green cab. I hope more sets and parts get released in that colour. Maybe it woild look even better if it was a bit bigger in comparison with the chassis. What is the gear reduction on the truck? Seems quite a lot. So you still have wired controllers on your races? And the air compressor is on the remote? I can see weight benefits for the truck capabilities, but somehow leaves a funny taste in my mouth ;-) Best regards. Quote

The scale of the cab is compromise between scale of tires and scale of the fig. I also like the slight monstertruck look of the MOC. Yes, we are used to it. Last year only one truck used Sbrick for control, maybe I'll try to go wireless someday too. , it is only additional thing we have to take care of in the section (the wire also can not touch the pole or section border. It is also good for safety, because when the truck crashes from high rock or hill, the wire stops it. Yes, the weight benefits are the main reason, but also allowed use of 3rd party accumulators, that do not fit in original BBs, and have higher capacity than LEGO LiPo or Buwizz (they are not allowed yet). The gear reduction is (if I remember correctly) Motor - 8:24(diff )- 16:24 - 12:20 - 8:24, so it makes, if I count correctly, 2:45. Edited April 19, 2020 by HorcikDesigns Quote
