Klaus-Dieter Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 (edited) Here is - like proposed - my second part: Miners These are four miners; the one with the top hat is their - perhaps not very branchless - boss. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter Edited May 16, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Athos Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 You need to vary the shirts a bit. They look too much like uniforms and I don't picture miners wearing uniforms. Other than that, they're looking pretty good. Are those torsos from rebel technicians? Steve Quote
Asuka Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Very nice, although they look perhaps indeed a little more like some chain gang.... Quote
Shadows Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Very nice, although they look perhaps indeed a little more like some chain gang.... YES! Give them shotguns and they're the guards in a chain gang from any classic 80's tv show. Think, the A-Team, for example. From left to right. The mean head of the guards. The innocent guy. The sadistic guy. The stupid guy. All you need is a dog and it's done! Seriously though, they're a little too uniform. Maybe it wouldn't be the same if they were spread out in a large display, but they do need more variation. Quote
Vaders_son Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 From left to right. The mean head of the guards. The innocent guy. The sadistic guy. The stupid guy. That made me laugh But I too think you could use some different bodies here, maybe this blue western body with the west on it or something alike? Otherwise I like them, nice choice of faces Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I could hear them singing "Oh My Darl'n Clementine". You really are becoming an expert with these WW fig sets KD. That tan shirts works great. I don't think I ever used that torso. My only suggestion would to make one older with a beard. I always picture the "Miner 49'er Look" with an old brown hat, suspenders, and long grey beard. Sort of like this varmint: Nice job though . Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 Thank you all very much for your nice comments! You really are becoming an expert with these WW fig sets KD. Thanks! But you don't kmow what will come next, do you? Your miner is of course much better designed but I wanted fastly have some miners because I didn't like to have the Adventure people as miners because for the WW theme they are . BTW: Next Thursday or Friday it's again time for another part of my "Wild West minifig show" - I hope you'll be all here, too ?! That time it'll be not that surprising because ... no, I don't betray yet. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Those torsos are killing me! Change at least two of them, please! But I love the ideas used here. The heads all work very well, and the addition of accessories is very nice. But those torsos... the same one used for all four miners really takes away from the finished product. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 KD: what torso is that? - meaning what set are they from? Quote

Thank you very much, sdpirate! KD: what torso is that? - meaning what set are they from? This torso is included in last year's City train station and in the big minifigures pack (only available from S@H). But I ordered the torsos as replacement parts via telephone from Lego Direct .
