Nuttysquirrel Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Hi eurobricks. Here is a project I've been working on since lockdown. It's a 1980 based rwd rally car using 42056 as this is my only set which I currently own. I'm using a 4 speed sequential gearbox mated to a fake 4 cylinder engine. I've used Didumos69 small sequential shifter mechanics for my heart of the build. Mainly because my understanding of gearboxes is poor. Anyway a few pics of my progress. JunkstyleGio Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Use flickr instead! The above pictures don't do the model any justice. Edited April 14, 2020 by JunkstyleGio Quote

1gor Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) On first sight I thought it is Renault GT5 Turbo https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_5_Turbo#/media/File%3ANationale_oldtimerdag_Zandvoort_2010%2C_1981_RENAULT_5_TURBO%2C_JH-VZ-86_pic2.JPG Edited April 14, 2020 by I_Igor Type error Quote

zux Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Nice C-model! There's strong P205 feel in the front with R5 at the back. Quote

If you like the really old cars, okay, but the EB110 and everything after it are just manufactured under a ressurrected badge, outside of france. And especially now Bugatti is about as french as Schnitzel. It is just a brand used by VW to flex Quote

MinusAndy Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Love this! Definitely somewhere between r5 turbo2 and 205 t15 Perhaps we could create a group b shrine using this, that Quattro UR that someone built a while back and my rs200. Quote

Thanks I started out trying to build a Renault 5 maxi 2 as i can only build Rwd. I'm happy with the rear but struggling with the front of the car. Still have the seats & engine bay to finish also may try to install hand of god. Quote
Nuttysquirrel Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 Finished the build for the time being. Need to work out the gearbox to get 5 speeds with the red catches. so I've built the interior finished the engine and redesigned the front. Also built some catches for the door locks. Quote
