Doctor Sinister Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Full images of the final build are now here - including a short video showing it in motion. "Mighty Lizbet" herself now sits on a split-level carriage, lowering her centre of gravity and making the shape more what I originally intended. the carriage is also longer. The ammunition loading carriage follows the gun on the train. There are two types of shell - armour-piercing, for bunker busting (yellow band) and high explosive (red band). There are two troop wagons, basic but functional designs. The rear platform allows for weapon emplacement for defence. Dr. S. Quote
AgentRick Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Sweet! do the troop carriers have any interiors? Are we going to see a picture of it in the field? Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 Sweet! do the troop carriers have any interiors? Are we going to see a picture of it in the field? Haven't decked out the troop wagons yet, I've spent about £100.00 on this MOC this week and my wallet is hurting! Dr. S. Quote
maiq the liar Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Say, you don't mind if i try to make my own railway cannon in LDD, Do you? Quote
iamded Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 That looks awesome Doctor S! I love it! The massive cannon is of course wicked, I love how you used an upside-down arch for support. The ammo feeder carriage looks nice in that mostly black colour scheme, and those bricks look much better with holes than I imagine they would without. Those troop wagons are also very cool, I like how you can stick a weapon in there for defence. That mini-gun still remains a favourite of mine. ~Peace Quote

No, I don't mind at all - it's not like I have the monopoly on them! Dr. S. That looks awesome Doctor S! I love it! Sir Norman Ray Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Now I really like this It may be a drain on resources and manpower, but by God its evil. Only problem I see with it is a lack of air cover. Stick a couple of quad guns around the place, and Dr Sinister's precious toy is safe from the skies. Quote
Batbrick Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Beautiful work here Dr.S! The Mighty Lizbet looks fantastic with the extra carriages and big gun, great work. I'm sure Tabletown will benefit from this kind of effective weapon Batbrick Away! Quote

I may add another carriage that mounts a couple of AA guns at some point - my only concern is that if I add too much then I'll need a massive track layout to run it (say, at a display, my next one is in October, at a train museum, funnily enough...) or the engine may not be able to pull it! The tests I've done so far don't suggest a problem in that regard, but you never know... I'm really pleased with how it came out, it's like a super-MOC, modular and LONG. And different. I don't know if anyone has ever made a LEGO Rail Cannon before... Dr. S. Beautiful work here Dr.S! The Mighty Lizbet looks fantastic with the extra carriages and big gun, great work. Asuka Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 A nice video, a great cannon and a fine work with the wagons and the carriage. Quote
