Schnegomeister Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I got this LEGO set, new, without a box or instructions (want that). I would like to know what it is - and probably assemble it. Picture here: Looks like a custom vehicle set from the 80s. But can't be older than the 80's, based on some parts. The parts come in the original perforated LEGO bags so it must been bought. Maybe it's LEGO Dacta? I looked though catalogs but couldn't find any set that matches these parts. Maybe i missed it. Maybe someone ordered smaller Basic sets and combined them into this custom set?, like Red Beams with Connector Pegs ... The two black bags on the upper-right are chain-links/ "tank-tracks". Anyone knows what this kit is? Any instructions around? Thanks! Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 That's an incredible find! Do all the motors work? Quote
Schnegomeister Posted March 29, 2020 Author Posted March 29, 2020 (edited) I have not tested them. I don't think I will assemble anything or open the packages. All came in the same box and is totally unused. Don't really know what to do with it. Sadly there are no instructions or the original box. Edited March 29, 2020 by Schnegomeister Quote

I definitely think it's 9605, so I guess the good news is that there are no original instructions that you're missing. If you're willing to open it and want ideas on what to use it for, I'd take a look at a vintage Expert Builder idea book, like #8888: http://oldinstructions.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/1980-8888-1-Expert-Builder-Idea-Book.pdf Quote
RohanBeckett Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 These Lego DACTA/Educational sets often didn't 'come' with instructions... As they were usually purchased by schools, and Class Guidebooks/building cards were usually seperate items Eg: you might have more sets than instructions packs, as students could share instructions, or build different things in each group (instructions packs were often packs of 10-20 individual instructions. Unlike normal technic sets, no creation would have used all the parts, and most of the instructions were usually mechanical ideas/concepts, to educate students, rather than fully fledged creations I've had a bit of a google around, but I can't seem to find any scans So you're pretty much on your own! I'm very envious! parts of this era are from my childhood, and would love to have a fresh set of parts/motors! :) Quote
