Dreamweb Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 (edited) I finally saw the movie two days ago. I have to say I expected more from the reviews I'd read earlier, but it's still a good movie - just not as good as I expected. Nonetheless I came up with an idea of making my Lego version of Iron Man, and then visited this site and learned that SirNadroj had already made some great Iron Man MOCs. Still I decided to go on with my idea and so here it is: He turned out quite big and musclebound, however I still consider it to be minifig scale. Here's a comparison with a standard minifig: And here's Iron Man flying over my home city (you can even see my house ): Here's the gallery with a few more pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=318057 Iron Man on! Millacol88 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Dont get me wrong, I like it, but it pales in comparison to the iron man MOCs of sir Nadroj. Still, really good though, better than I could have done. Ironman On! Quote
LegoLyons Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I think its cool. And the teeth marks give the armour a battle scar or two. Quote
Dreamweb Posted May 11, 2008 Author Posted May 11, 2008 Yes, unfortunately most of my red plates are currently in use in Pirate MOCs, so I had to use those few I had left - not all of them being brand new. Some of them may very well be from the '70s sets like this one or this one. :-) Quote
Batbrick Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Dont get me wrong, I like it, but it pales in comparison to the iron man MOCs of sir Nadroj. Still, really good though, better than I could have done. Ironman On! I disagree here, SirNadroj's were great, but I like this better as it chooses not to accommodate a fig and is thus more faithful to the look. Great job! Batbrick Away! Quote
Pencoin Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 very cool it seems more faithful to the classic look and maybe not so the movie version (but that makes it all the sweeter) im watching iron man later today so nice moc Quote
Tarfful Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) Great creation Dreamweb! I especially like how you did the head, simple yet brillant. Now, here's some friendly advise on how to improve your Iron Man: -First: replace your current shoulder piece with this one, in Red. -Second: replace all the the flat 2x1 plates that have their studs showing with this piece, in their respective colors. -Third: you might want to put this piece (in Red) on his "feet" (this piece) to make them less boxy. Of course this is just my opinion, he looks great as he is now. -Tarfful EDIT: Spelling and grammer check, there were alos to many "of course's" for my own good. Edited May 15, 2008 by Tarfful Quote
Dreamweb Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) These are great advices, thanks! Unfortunately I don't have enough neccessary parts in the right colour, but I'll keep that in mind for future experiments! Actually my first idea was to use this part in red as the shoulder piece - he looked really really funny with such big muscles and I liked it very much, although it was even less realistic. Unfortunately I couldn't find enough room for that piece Edited May 13, 2008 by Dreamweb Quote
