1980SomethingSpaceGuy Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Last Christmas, my wife's Lego present from me was 21313 Ship In a Bottle. This year, we got 21318 Tree House. So there wan't enough space anymore on the shelf for the bottle. Along with the tree house came a lot of leaves for the alternate season build. I figured I should reuse the parts from the bottle and build a greenhouse for those left-over leaves, since my wife's much into growing plants. The roof opens... And the whole greenhouse can be lifted up to reveal the interior. That's the technique I used to hold my SNOT side window panels. I'm happy with the result, once assembled, the model can be grabbed without too much care and is tough enough for my kids to play with. Quote
Vindicare Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Nice idea of reusing these bottle parts. I like the variety of plants you have, really makes the place feel busy. Quote
1980SomethingSpaceGuy Posted January 23, 2020 Author Posted January 23, 2020 Thanks! I wanted the place to feel busy: it had to look like my wife's garden. I kinda used all plants and flowers and sticks I had at hand... And a 30 y.o. parrot from a 90's pirate set. Quote
nwbricks Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 This is so nice, I missed the boat (no pun intended) with the ship in a bottle set and really regret it now. Love the old parrot :) Quote
Jerry McGlade Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I like the motif a lot, it almost feels like a Steampunk thing. The Steampunk genre has become more apparent lately. Quote
