LegoMyMamma Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Since the wig display couldn't fit inside in the original set, and the hair tools rack was in the way -- I decided to use two sets combined to expand the salon. Now there's space for a hair washing room, which most salons I've been to have (or at least an area for the sinks, etc.). With sparkly shampoos! I built a third chair, so the styling chair doesn't have to have the overhead dryer attached. I moved the TV screen so the chair with the dryer and the styling chair can both see it (it was above the front door). You can see the wig counter with hair bows and such now fits inside. Customers can see option while getting their hair washed. I moved the banner flag to the front. Although it was cute on the side, and worked if this was near a corner (as box art suggests), this way the whole building fits into a larger display. Also the one pink stickered 2x2 that was in the magazine rack seems moreso a sign -- because it has $25 as a price for haircut. The scissors are the same, just rotated. Hard to improve on it with only parts from an additional set. Additional greenery is a nice thing about 2 sets combined, and I added a flower box outside one window. I decided on horizontal expansion, although vertical modular would be a fun challenge. You can see more images of the original set here. Quote
Kristel Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Looks great! I think a horizontal expansion makes more sense in this case, rather than spreading the salon over two or more levels to have all the features you have added to the interior. Quote
