Hobbes Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Alright, here's the deal: a toy store near my office has a few LEGO sets they sell off for half price. Among them is a 7194 Yoda. Half price in this case is EUR 62.50. My dilemma: I would buy it only for pieces for my Town buildings, I wouldn't build the sculpture. And somehow I have a hard time spending more than 60 Euro for something I won't build. I would use the pieces, of course, just not for what they were intended. So, should I buy it? :/ ... I probably know the answers anyway ;)
xwingyoda Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Well, I guess I am one of the only member here who really likes the Yoda sculpture ;) Oh well, back on topic, I would definitly buy it for the rare green parts and all the great tan parts. I don't know why you bother ask this question because I' sure you will buy it anyway :P ;)
Hobbes Posted June 30, 2005 Author Posted June 30, 2005 I guess I am one of the only member here who really likes the Yoda sculpture ;) I think it looks cool, I just don't have room for it Oh well, back on topic, I would definitly buy it for the rare green parts and all the great tan parts. That was my intention. I don't know why you bother ask this question because I' sure you will buy it anyway :PÂ ;) Well, that sale's been going on for about a month now and I haven't bought it yet :P Maybe I just need some approval... encouragement... somebody to kick my butt and get me going... ;)
xwingyoda Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 OK Hobbes, here is some butt kicking: GO AND BUY IT TODAY !!!!! :D :P
Hobbes Posted June 30, 2005 Author Posted June 30, 2005 OK, but if my g/f complains about me spending money on LEGO again I'll blame it on you :P ;)
eDeevo Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 So you just needed someone to blame, eh? ;) Life is Good.
SuvieD Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Yes, yes buy this. I got two for cheap and I haven't regretted a second of it. The parts are all earth tones that are great for just about anything. Though I think you should build it at least once if you buy it. It is a fun build and it looks very nice once completed.
Hobbes Posted June 30, 2005 Author Posted June 30, 2005 There, now I bought it :P Though I think you should build it at least once if you buy it. It is a fun build and it looks very nice once completed. It's tempting... the instructions need getting used to, though- a top-view is irritable at first glance... but I'll see if I'm in the mood sometime... Thanks everybody for the encouragement ;) PS: So you just needed someone to blame, eh? ;) Me? I could never come up with a cunning plan like that... wouldn't dare think about it....................
gylman Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 I once had a chance to buy that set in a damaged box, with all bags intact, for $20 Canadian (like 15$ US) and after pondering a bit, left it on the shelf. It wasn't the money - I just didn't like the look of it, nor the colors of bricks at the time. Shortsighted I guess. Oh well. G
eDeevo Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 Don't feel bad gylman, I passed one up for $25 about a year ago for the same reason at the time... I am still comfortable with my decision... Life is Good.
SuvieD Posted June 30, 2005 Posted June 30, 2005 If I could find them for $25 right now I would get like 4! :oD I am working on a sandstone catle and could use some of those great parts. I ended up getting one for $50 and a second for $35. I have only passed up city and some harry potter sets when they got at or below 60% off. I can't pass up a deal. |-D I got two Border Ambush sets for $10 each and seven of the small HP set with the hippogriff for $4. I am waiting for some other sets to hit or drop below 50%. For those of you in the US I suggest going to your nearest Kmart. On Sunday, certain Kmart stores will have 10% off clearance toy prices. I wonder when Target will clearance their sets? Today maybe or next week. It generally happens on a Thursday. This is a month for bargain hunters. I hope to get some great finds. Best of luck to all the other bargain hunters out there. Remember if you pay full price you pay too much!
