Badsneaker Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Here are a few pics of our LEGO city. The whole left side is completely modular each building is built on a single 32 x 32 green plate so I can slide each building out and change it around. Here is the Octan gas station/snack shop. We have a removable roof with ladder access to the A/C units on the roof. Inside we have a grill, register, shelves for snacks and a soda machine Basic church: Removable 2nd floor: Front view: Octan fuel truck: Still in development, as always. Quote
iamded Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 That is awesome! I love how everything's so modular, it all looks great! It appears a lot of effort has gone into this, the buildings and vehicles all look great. Looking forward to seeing future updates! ~Peace Quote

zeki Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 This is very nice city, i like your gas station it rocks! Quote
Asuka Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 A really huge and impressive layout, with many beautiful and detailed buildings, equipped with very neat interiors as well. Great! Quote
Badsneaker Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 Here is a shot of this modular home I've been working on. Its my first large multi story modular building. It's 3 floors with a rooftop terrace. It kind of makes the green grocer look small so I may move it a few blocks down. The medium blue villa to the right is my daughters home. It features 3 removable floors, rooftop terrace and twin opening skylights. Heres a shot of the roof and terrace. Plenty of seating for guests with overhead lighting for those all night parties. Heres the other side. I used some cabana pieces to cover the stairwell coming up to the terrace. This is the rear with the fire escapes in the "up" position. Here they are in the down position. This is the 1st floor. No furniture, just a small throw rug for now. This is all floors removed. I'll try to get some better shots of this. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Fantastic houses you have made there Badsneaker! Love the red modular building. Thanks for posting the pics. Quote

Asuka Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Very detailed houses in a fine color scheme with some very fitting interiors too! That roof terrace looks simply great! Quote
legotrainfan Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Nice layout and superb houses! I especially like the green, white, and red house with the white roof. It looks as if you made it with quite many ordinary bricks. That gives me confidence, because most bricks I have are ordinary. Still, I need more of them. My brick collection is too small for such a wonderful house as you built! Quote

I was at a loss when I got to the roof section on my green and red house. It took a few days of trial and error before I got it the way I wanted it. I did use a lot of ordinary bricks. Lots of smooth tiles throughout. I'm working on a 32x32 city block right now. It going to have 3 shops all joined, 1 floor, with a 1 or 2 floor office building on top. Its on a green 32x32 plate which can be lifted out, turned in 4 different directions, or moved to another part of town. I'll post a few pics tonight of phase 1. If you look at the 2nd pic down, you can see the green base at the center left of the pic. This is where I am building it. Quote
