With all of the activity in the Vanik system, certain disreputable people were drawn to it.

The Errant Venture was a known Smuggling/Pirate vessel. It was also the only red Star Destroyer in existence. Red paint was just too expensive for your average being to waste on something as large as a Star Destroyer.

Stolen from the Imperials shortly after their defeat at Endor, it made quite an entrance every time it jumped into a system.
