zoth33 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) This is my last MOC comments and criticism welcome. It is a castle for my Lion lords. I know it's not complex. I was running out of bricks. Edited August 22, 2019 by zoth33 Quote
pantelis Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 i like the sand green colors..also i think when you finish it the castle it will be very nice..maybe a tall tower in the center it will helps.. Quote
Aine Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) I like the first photo: the castle is low and sturdy. The overal design is a bit too strict, so maybe there could be more details. But it's got a cool old school feeling. I think that the courtyard needs more life: some tree, a well, few minifigs. Solid build! Edited August 22, 2019 by Aine Quote
Littleworlds Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 (edited) I like it. Nice mixture of old & new. The green tips on the battlements do really well - as the green accents do within the walls. I would add maybe some living area and make the keep one level taller or so. Edit: Before I forget (well, actually I did, but yay for the edit-function^^) I would try to take the photos with light shining more at the front of the castle. The pictures look quite backlight-heavy, which makes quite an interesting, sunset-like effect, but doesn't presents the castle as nicely. The close-ups look fine, so I think just rotating it towards the light-source might already do the trick. Edited August 23, 2019 by Littleworlds Quote

Thank you and I was running out of bricks. I have got some more should be changing some things around and possibly making the outer walls higher too. 9 hours ago, Aine said: I like the first photo: the castle is low and sturdy. Solid build! Thanks for the input. I will be putting more stuff on the interior of the castle. My youngest son and my foster child have been battling armies in the castle recently so hopefully I can make some adjustments soon. 53 minutes ago, Littleworlds said: I like it. My lego room is kind of dark and a little cluttered right now so I tried to take pics in better lighting. Quote
Aine Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Quote I will be putting more stuff on the interior of the castle. Cool! You could try something contrsting with the grey structure, but also soemthing that blends in, and that's why I'd like to see a tree there: brown for contrast, green for accord. Some wooden structure could be also nice, like blacksmith or rahter stables. Becaus stables means horses, and there are brwon and white and black ones who'd bring even more life and colours. Really nice design! Quote
Grover Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 For what you describe as not complex, you add quite a bit of detail. I like the dark blue and the sand green together on the grey. I would not have thought about using those together, but it works! I also like the shoulder pads on the wizard. Great idea! The throne is pretty slick, too. Can't wait to see it populated! Quote

It's been populated on and off with my younger son having battles on it but I will get some photo's with some improvements and minifigs hopefully within the next few weeks. Quote
KotZ Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Nice work! It's got just enough color and texturing without overpowering the greys. My only suggestion would be to put things inside the castle ward, like carts, stables, and some texturing on the ground. Quote
