ks6349 Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Data I found on web -- dimension of the track is 73cm x 101cm I'd like to know, if I can reduce the track size and the train still runs correctly? 73cm is too big for my available area. Quote
Pdaitabird Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 The track included with the set makes an oval. Unfortunately, Lego doesn't make any smaller radius standard-gauge track. Quote
ks6349 Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 As I run the train faster and faster, the train will lose out of the track? Is it possible to fix the issue? I like to see them running super fast Quote
Pdaitabird Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 One possibility is to raise the outer side of the curves by one or two layers of plates. This would "bank" the curves like a racetrack. Another option is @coaster's large-radius track, but that would require more space. Quote

ks6349 Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 How about adding walls besides the curves? Would it hit the train so badly when colliding with high speed 5 hours ago, Roadmonkeytj said: a caution about this. Too much bank and a stopped train falls off the track top first. MAB Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 It's going to look rather naff on a smaller track anyway. How big is the area? You could always display it going backwards and forwards on a straight piece of track. You can use an arduino to reverse it and stop it falling off the ends. Quote
