Tacitus Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 (edited) I thought I'd finally get around to posted my own version of the Mine. I think of it more as a WIP than anything else, and that will probably become obvious in the photos, as will those places where I lacked the ideal bricks. Of course, the more I look at it, the more I want to re-do it. The file sizes are just a little too big for an attachment, so I'll post the links to brickshelf. Like most of you, I think, I never liked the fact that the mine wasn't really a mine, so I built up the front to make it more rocky. Both sides are modular. The flames appearing from the left side are meant to be the exhaust stacks from the blacksmith's furnace. Here's an shot of an inner wall with a dwarf at work. Another angle. I like the staircase. Anyway, when the gallery is public, please check out the other photos. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=316116 And comments/criticism are always appreciated. Oh, and forgive the photo quality. I had some lighting issues, and the flash couldn't be avoided. Tacitus. *Finally figured out the image-link system...sorry for the inconvenience. The Kid Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Any chance you could deeplink them? (click on the pic until you can't click any more; use that URL) TK Quote
Tacitus Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 Any chance you could deeplink them? (click on the pic until you can't click any more; use that URL)TK Taken care of. I didn't notice the image link tab on the post screen, so I had been pasting the old fashioned way. Tacitus. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 A very nice layout you've made there I especially like where you've put the well-type thing. And the gold looks like it will actually go somewhere now My only criticism is that the orange and blue pieces don't really work well with the brown and greys. Perhaps using brown and dark blue instead of these colours would work better. Overall, a great Mine MOD, nice work Quote
Dragonator Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 This is a very nice expansion on the main set. I too agree that some of the colours are a little off, but the structure looks good! This definitely looks like a working mine! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I like it! good to see the mine actually moving ore from the mine to the train cars. Nice use of archways and BURPs (esp brown ones for the lift) The staircase is a bit messy but overall it feels like a busy mine with lots going on! Bravo Quote

I started running out of greys, and thought: what else do I have that looks like dirt? Quote
Asuka Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 That´s a pretty huge and fine mine indeed, well fitting with a serious mining feeling to it for sure.... and I guess the chances´re good that your hard working dwarven miners´ll dig out that link to your BS site again, huh...? It´s always the spook, isn´t it? Quote
