ProvenceTristram Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Hi all. I need a quick hand. I am lousy at Technic, and really need a recommendation for what is likely to be a Technic part. Specifically, I need some kind of 360 degree ball joint (or, it could be a 180 degree motion in a 4 x 4 design, so I could utilize a turntable). Crucially, it needs to be a part that affords some stiffness - a ratcheting effect would be excellent, but if it were a naturally stiff enough piece, that would do, too. This is a requirement because it has to not only support its own weight, but the weight of an object at the end of the arm. Here's a photo of what I am trying to mimic (less perhaps in aesthetic than function): Any help is much appreciated. Quote
Clutch Builder Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 (edited) I would suggest this hinge assembly from 7470. It pivots 180 degrees as well as 360, which sounds like it would work for you, and also ratchets. The hinge pieces on BL: 41681 (Far left) 41679 (Second from left) 41680 (Third from left) Hope this helps! Edited December 16, 2019 by Clutch Builder Quote
