Shadows Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Ok, I know how topics like this can go, so I'm just going to start by saying that this is a serious question, and I would appreciate serious answers. After that, you can be silly like always. Thanks! After Captain Green Hair commented that, perhaps, the hips on the halter top girls made them look a little, well, overly booty'd, Alice and I were discussing hips and how they could best be represented in the LEGO world. We offer these two possibilities. They're actually the exact same width, but through the magic of optical illusion, they appear different. Basically, it all comes down to the curve of the waist. So that's the question, which one do you think best represents the ideal female form? A ... or ... B Thanks for participating! Quote
Siegfried Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 EB: The place to go for the answers that really matter! I picked B; I think A looks un-natural. Quote
Hinckley Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 My opinion required??!! You're not the boss of me *tantrum follows* Anyway, B. A is too bootified. Ha! I joked first and was serious second and you can't do anything about it!  Quote
PrincessAriana Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I chose B. Being a lady myself most of us are tiny little twigs and have more subtle curves. A is too extreme. Quote
Shadows Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Three votes in and it seems the people have spoken. I like a good quick response, thanks! It's funny, really. 'A' didn't look so horribly distorted until placed next to 'B'. By comparing, it becomes immediately obvious. The result? I get to redo 18 halter top decals. No, the result will be a more accurate representation, and that's the important thing. Special thanks to Alice, female form advisor, and female form, and ... Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I'd say B, the hips look better! Quote
Sir Dano Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 B. Although A would look good if she were wearing a corset. Quote
Shadows Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Thanks for all the great responses! I knew, with them side by side that B was the one, but it's good to get some outside confirmation. Alice is too shy to admit it, but she actually sketched the curve that I reworked to make the side curve that everyone likes so much, so I just figure I'll mention it myself until she comes along. Accurate Curves On! Quote
Alice Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Thanks for all the great responses! Accurate Curves On! *GLARES* I'll take credit. I do think it looks better and the halter tops are incredible (I picked the green one to play with because it is my favorite). When I saw Captain Green Hair's post about the hips being too wide, I thought that there probably had to be a way to improve upon the already great design. Maybe I'll post some actual designs of my own soon rather than just corrections of shadows designs. I really enjoy the idea of designing clothes for Lego. Quote
Shadows Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 I'll take credit. Yay! I knew I'd drag you out! When I saw Captain Green Hair's post about the hips being too wide, I thought that there probably had to be a way to improve upon the already great design. That you did! I really thought I had it dead on before, then you fixed the one glaring weakness. It's funny because the hips are exactly as wide as before, she just has a wider waist now, which makes it all flow better. Or, as I'll eternally refer to this project: "Does this decal make my butt look big?" Maybe I'll post some actual designs of my own soon rather than just corrections of shadows designs. She makes one improvement and ... Quote
ExoBuilder Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Special thanks to Alice, female form advisor, and female form, and ... I picked B, A is way too skinny for my liking! Quote
hollisbrick Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I picked BBeing that i am a girl erhmm umm because those hips turn me on look better on a MF Hips dont lie Quote
yellost Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Well, if by "ideal" you mean Barbie's impossible proportions of a bee that every society girly girl wants to achieve by plastic surgery/everlasting diet/not eating at all/complete despair, then A is the way to go But B definitely looks better and far more natural. Lamanda2 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 B, without a doubt. The curve of the hips in design A are quite drastic. ~Amanda Quote
Dragonator Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I have to go for B, although I do agree with Sir Dano that A would look good with a corset. Quote
Shadows Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 I do agree with Sir Dano that A would look good with a corset. Corset would! Hmmm... giving me ideas here. Quote
