Book-bus / mobile library annex

My town is small, so it doesn't have a library of its own. Instead a book-bus comes a couple of times per week.

I intend for it to look something like this:

However, I'm not used to work with LDD, so perhaps someone can help me by pointing out less than good techniques I've used and would have noticed if I was prototyping with bricks and plates?

Well, it´s a really fine idea and it already looks pretty nice too for an LDD abstinent like me....

Looks alright, but the design isn't very good. The front hangs from a single off centre stud, I forgot a piece in the floor construction so there was an airgap and the plate which supports the door is itself only supported on one side.

With a bit of rebuilding it'll be approved for traffic in Grimeton.

I guess I would have chosen an 8-wide design for a bus. But it looks good all in all.

I´ll check the LDD file and give feedback, when I´ve got the time for it

I have to confess that I don't like so much the LDD moc. Not that they can't look beautifull, but the digital design of those mocs take away the style of the bricks...

So, seeing your LDD version and the real brickbuilt one is very good, Grimer! It appears more, dunno... real and charming.

And contrary to DJ Force, I like the fact that it's 6-wide, it gives your bus a very good proportion IMO.

I don´t know, it´s just too narrow for me, being only 6 studs wide. It has to hold a lot of books and give the citizens enough space to go in, take a good look at all those books and walk out with a pile of them in their hands It might get a little crowdy in there.

But then again, that´s just my opinion and everybody has their personal taste of things.

Congratulations, I think that is a really beutiful MOC. You could use 1 x 2 plates in various colours as books, Harry Potter books would be just too big.

But I must disagree with you on something...

I think there's no town too small for library, no matter what the politicians say ! But still, I'm glad your minifigs get the books, even from the bus !

If it was 8 wide, it would look too large compared to other vehicles I have. And I've never found the inside of a real one exactly crowded.

I'm planning on 1x2 plates for books, but first I'll reinforce the structure. Probably the front needs total redesign too. This is a problem with LDD compared to real building, when you move parts around you have no feel for if it's going to stay together or not.
