traintraum Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Hi everyone, last days and weeks, I worked out at some train-based stuff. Most might be a bit crazy - but at least, it's something special ;-) Today, I made a short summarizing video of most of the projects (all made in February and March 2019!). Well, what do you think about that? Would you say, it's quite silly or idioty? :-o Which scenes do you like the most? Next time, I will do a bit more creating work. Several trains are in progress - as also a 2,5m train station - being ready to build in August, on holiday, a big train layout with some realistic custom trains ;-) Well, it's quite good, beeing ready in collecting every lego train set (since 1966) - now I am able in focusing in more realistic - or at least individual projects. It's a bit more exciting ;-) Best regards and a great week from Niklas as Train-Traum Quote
Hod Carrier Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Oh wow!! You put a lot of trust in string. I’m not sure I would want to hang track like that and not be worried it would all fall down. But you have shown how people can still have a layout even in a very small space. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Wow, huge collection of trains and 9v rails Amazing videos Quote
traintraum Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Thank you for that kind words :) Well, the strings in general are very taff. The only problem might be, that the tracks can move a bit. Some times, a coach really felt down. That wasn't that nice of course. :-o Quote
MAB Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 That hanging one at 1:25 is amazing. I don't know whether you are a brave visionary or just plain crazy! Quote
traintraum Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Thank you! I even don't know :) So it seems, we have to wait and hope that is helping to find it out ;-) Quote
Roadmonkeytj Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I think the hanging track is great however I've seen your coach exploding video... Perhaps instead of string you could Mount some "allthread" the hardware store should carry some and a variety of "pipe hangers" that could be adapted to the same methods as the string. The still have some flex but are much more rigid than string. Quote
