Hi all! Having been a fan of the Adventurers theme for over 20 years now, I’ve decided that it’s high time some of these classic sets got the attention they deserved, so I’ve embarked on a little adventure of my own, reviewing every single Adventurers set ever released on my YouTube channel, TrikBrix.

And I’m happy to say that I’m nearing the end of season 2, where we’ve been looking at the Jungle subtheme.

bZMLUdS.jpgI was still learning the ropes of videography in the beginning, so the first few videos aren’t quite up to my current standard, but I hope you can look past that and enjoy them just the same. All of the music is completely custom, as well. Happy adventures!

Hi Trikbrix, your videos about the Adventurers-theme are absolutely great. I hope you continue your retrospective about Johnny Thunder and his friends (even if I don't like the Dino-subtheme very much).

@TrikBrixWill you make an Adventurers season 3 (dino island-subtheme)? I would appreciate very much seeing more of your awesome retrospectives.

He is taking a break at the moment, I think he needs to find a bit of time and motivation again to continue this great endeavour. Anyway if he returns I'm 100% sure a Dino Island will come along as he had already shared his collection of the subtheme.

Btw, I feel you @The Reader, I think Jamie's work is the highest quality when it comes to oldschool Lego video reviews. The thoroughness of the presentation, the details, the sheer passion and custom songs he provides is just truly first-class.

@Medzomorak I fully agree with you. @TrikBrix's videos are on a really professional level. I haven't seen any better review videos yet. That's why I hope he will continue his great work. In some kind his reviews helped to bring me out of my dark ages.

Yes! :D

I've bought the Sphynx set because of TrikBrix last summer.

I got the Pharaoh's temple in 1999 Christmas as a little kid so it was a great to feel nostalgic again. Only took 20 years to finally create the diorama with them :D

My next target is the Jungle Zeppelin, it was one of my biggest w.a.n.t. as a kid. Only remember seeing it once on the shelves before it was retired. Never really found any scientific and reasonable argument why my parent's hadn't bought this.

I also remember these sets were just before the Mummy movies came out so I was very hyped about early 20th century expedition stories.

Me, too.

Actually I'm not a big fan of Pharao's Forbidden Ruins (set 5988), but Sphinx Secret Surprise (set 5978) is absolutely awesome.

From the jungle-subtheme, Amazon Ancient Ruins (set 5986) is great. It's on top of my wishlist.

Does anyone know when @TrikBrix will get back to making more reviews? He's been inactive for quite some time now.

Nichts.

He had made no contacts whatsoever with anybody since his last entry. I think some serious private life things (with a pinch of burnout) caused him to put all Lego things aside, but he has never elaborated things further. But definitely said in the form of comment reactions that he's planning a return.

I hope we'll get him back by summer.

I know a few of you have noticed the absence of TrikBrix on YouTube as of late, and I just wanted to take a moment and address that... In recent months my interests have been turning away from Lego, and I had begun to dread making every video due to the time and effort they take - writing scripts, composing original music, researching sets, buying sets, setting up the studio, filming, editing, etc. - basically taking up all my free time outside of my day job, which would be fine if I didn’t have any other interests/responsibilities, but that isn’t the case. So I decided a hiatus was in order before the dread turned to total burnout. I appreciate all of your thoughtful comments and emails of concern; yes, I’m pleased to announce that I’m alive and well. :) Getting to know the community here has by far been the best thing to come out of creating this channel, so this decision was not an easy one to make. But at the same time, you guys deserve more than half-hearted, thrown together reviews. Lastly, you’ll be glad to know that I don’t expect this break to last forever, and as soon as I get the spark back, you’ll be seeing reviews from me again, bigger and better than ever. Thank you all for being so awesome and supportive. Play well, my friends. -Jamie

I hope he is well. Best wishes, Jamie!

Yeah, I was one of his first followers his Nebula outpust video instantly showed me this is the passion I was looking for on youtube :moar:

Now with 2k followers his channel is still waaay to underrated, considering some of the basic Lego building channels converge to a million subscribers. Taking the the effort input, Jamie's work can be a bit ungrateful on the short run.

Still, with enough time and more additional thousands of followers it can create a recognizable message for TLG, which we're all hoping for in this forum.
